This restored Madeiran mansion is located 900 metres from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. Beautiful gardens. Delicious breakfast with a view. Friendly, accommodating staff. Spotless.

Hotel Porto Santa Maria is a very well-thought-out and comfortable adult only hotel. The location is perfect in Funchal - at the beach, next to the Monte Funicular, adjacent to the old town, near many restaurants, within walking distance to the new part of town. The rooms are spacious and have kitchenette facilities. There was music entertainment every night. Breakfast was plentiful. Above all, the staff were amazing. We highly recommend staying at Porto Santa Maria. One more plus: there is a parking garage if you have a rental car - no extra charge.

Offering panoramic views of Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean, Hotel Quinta Bela S. Tiago features an outdoor heated pool surrounded by tropical gardens. Very good location, nice view from the terrace. Big family room with balcony 🙂

We stayed here for 1 night before our flight and it was perfect. Close to restaurants and the harbor. The room was clean, updated and had air conditioning too! I would stay there again!

As well as this apartement- everything was clean, comfy, accurate to pictures...location is perfect, next to the Old Town, next to the great bar and reastaurant as well as the beach just 3min down the road. But the best thing about this apartement was pool and the view from the roof, amazing😍day or evening view, perfect. You also have a parking here, which is a big deal because you need a car to see the island and many apartements that we looked didn't have it next to the Old Town. The host is also amazing-she gave us all the tips and welcomed us nicely...we really felt like at home and we spent 11 nights in beautiful Funchal😍recommend to stay here, you will have great holiday❤️

And gave us some very good tips for the City of Funchal and the Island in general.

We had an amazing stay at this comfortable apartment! Central location to the market across the street and grocery stores and bus and the waterfront promenade. It felt like we were locals going to the grocery store and taking the bus, not like tourists! The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need! We loved it! Jose was a wonderful host and he was in touch with us from the moment we landed at the airport and any time we had a question he was quick to answer all of our questions! We didn't have a problem with noise from the market early morning but we always travel with a white noise machine so we didn't hear anything. We found the bed super comfortable. We were there for almost 2 weeks and cannot wait to go back to Madeira and hope that Jose's apartment is available when we do!! Thank you so much Jose!!
