She welcomed us no matter that our travel got delayed and we arrived late in the evening. The host had prepared a very nice guide of all local restaurants, bakeries and locations which was super handy! The place itself is on a great spot, quiet area but very close by to the center! We felt very cozy and at home.

B&B De Waterzooi offers 3 suites with free Wi-Fi in a house dating from 1713 in the center of Ghent. This design hotel is located at the foot of Gravensteen castle and features city views. Christian and Kay have made a little slice of magic in Ghent with their B&B. From the "reception" in the common room of their apartment in the building, their warmth and welcoming words, the sedate elevator that took us to the 3rd floor, the smell of old wood, fresh river air and books, it immediately relaxed us after a long drive from the Hague. The 3rd floor apartment we took was something else as well - the view at the castle in front, the balcony that looks over the river and the church steeples in the back, chairs, sofas and beds you can immediately fall asleep in, all impecably clean... Kay told us that it is rare we can get a single night available on such short notice, but I am glad we did. Would recommend it to everyone, no matter how many times you visited Ghent!
