Shirahama Onsen, Shirahama
Towels and bed linen are featured in the country house. The accommodation offers an air conditioning, a heating and a private bathroom.
The country house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in.
Located close to both the hiking trails and the tourist/pilgrimage spots. The property is quiet, clean, peaceful and is in itself a wonderful wooden building. The bedroom was comfortable with a nice view of the pond. If you want peace and quiet - this is the place.
So beautiful and serene. Lovely one-night stay. Cute rooms (Japanese / Monk style); quiet place with a reasonable number of guests. Peaceful setting, well maintain. Enjoyed the hot baths. Vegetarian meals (very enjoyable). The Monk spoke a really good English. The morning religious service was a really good experience This was by far my favourite area of my trip around Japan. The area is so calm and relaxed and the temples beatiful.
The room is not luxurious and rather small, but has everything you need, is clean and neat and has a comfy bed. The location is very nice, away from the main road, quiet area. Breakfast in the lovely cafe next door is absolutely excellent and the owners put a lot of effort into making the guests feel comfortable: 12 out of 10!
Service and food was excellent! Quiet peaceful area
Room was simple and clean. Ceiling light was bright and comes with dimmer. Surrounding was peaceful and quiet. Within walking distance to Tanabe station and eateries.
Lovely place in the countryside. Very quiet and had everything you would need. Plus breakfast in the morning and the boxed lunches was delicious!
This is an exceptional place! If you are hiking the Kumano Kodo trail this accommodation is very well located. The owner was super friendly and prepared a fabulous dinner and breakfast. The accommodation was very clean and quiet and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing, plus there was a private Onsen at the accommodation - Exactly what you needed after a long day of hiking.
We are so happy we chose this temple for our stay in Koyasan. It was quiet and peaceful and the staff was very kind. The morning ceremonies were definitely an important part of the experience. The place felt much less crowded compared to the other temple stays that we passed by in town, which we really appreciated. It has a nice garden and a relaxing indoor onsen, available for guests in the evenings.
Beautiful gardens Quiet and peaceful place Very clean Thanks to the monks letting us assist at their morning prayer which was very enrichimg Loved the onsen, too
A buddhist temple lodging, very clean, comfortable and safe. Front desk was welcoming and helpful, walked us to room and explained the house rules. At night, very quiet, peaceful for contemplation and can hear the bell at designated time. Morning chanting ceremony before vegetarian breakfast.
