King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn slept in one of the bedchambers and walked through the ancient gardens at Thornbury Castle - A Relais & Chateaux Hotel, a Tudor castle near the Cotswolds and Welsh Borders. Loved having a little bit of luxury and staying somewhere unique. The food of very high standard and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Within a short walk from the local village with shops and pubs, and the local church overlooking was beautiful.

Loved the whole cozy cottage feel, with outdoor spaces to relax! The kitchen was well stocked and organized. The cottage was very inviting, comfortable furnishings, linens and nicely decorated...absolutely charming. Cottage was very clean and good location for day trips in area.
The property is a lovely stone cottage that links closely with my heritage and profession. It was close by the local pub and near to the airport so was very practical. The host was lovely and welcoming as well as thoughtful and provided a clean cosy room
This incredibly cozy place features a superbly equipped kitchen (it has everything and even more to cook with) and comfortable bedrooms. The fireplace was a delightful addition, and the opportunity to light it ourselves was appreciated. The cottage is conveniently located in relation to Cheddar Caves (literally a 10-minute walk to the ticket office and nearby souvenir shops and cafes). We definitely recommend Strawberry Cottage. Cosy stone cottage in a beautiful setting. Clean and well fitted out, especially the kitchen. Great place to relax and good base for exploring the surrounding area. Rachel and Roo were friendly and helpful too!
The cottage was utterly charming and the hostess Marie as well. She left us a gift basket with wine and a couple of other useful items. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The water was nice and hot for washing or doing the dishes. The dishes and silverware were plentiful and of good quality.
The location of the lodges are fantastic, so peaceful in a tranquil countryside setting. Our Primrose lodge was very well presented with quality fixtures and fittings, as well as a very comfortable bed! All facilities are supplied, hot tub is a nice touch, although there are other lodges nearby it is vey private.
The property was lovely. A little cosy cottage which was immaculate. The surroundings were spotless and in a quiet area in the middle of the countryside. Was a bit difficult to find through the lanes but then found the small sign outside. Got everything you need in the room as well as some lovely extra bits like chocolate and biscuits. WiFi I’m the room too. When we stay in Bath again this will definitely be the place we return to. It was just perfect!
We had a couple of facility issues when we arrived but Jo couldn't have been more charming and resolved very quickly. The cottage is very spacious inside and tastefully decorated and yet with a cosy feel. The terrace is set off from the owners garden and lovely suntrap, but quite steep steps, so be mindful if small children. I also noticed a BBQ not that we used it but great to know for another time. Stunning walks in the area and the Rising Sun is lovely for Sunday lunch - delicious.
Lovely cottage in a good location with easy access to Bath, Bristol, Wells and great Somerset countryside including the Mendip Hills. The hosts live next door and are friendly and available and the cottage is well equipped. The wi-fi works well.
