Excellent Place to Enjoy Bird Life & Real Wild Life Experience. At least 2 Night Stay Would be recommended. They pick us up from the City by their Jeep and drive Us to the Camp. We Did a full-day tour with the Yala Wild Safaris a great Experience.

It is a unique experience. The tent rooms are so cute and had nice details. The staff was so warm and welcoming. Loved our stay! We did the morning safari with them and had a great experience. Our female ranger was so wonderful. She is sweet, smart and tells great stories to fill the time while you are waiting to see spot the animals. I would recommend going with them for safari. They really go above and behind. Also we had coffee and tea in the jeep! So cool.

Had a wonderful experience staying at the RestSafari. The place is set up in a big area where one can rest comfortably, and looks out on the jungle, where many animals (mainly buffaloes, peacocks, elephants, varanes, foxes) pass by during the day/night. Owners (and staff) are taking good care and are very friendly & relaxed. Nice campfires and surprisingly few mosquitoes. Slept really well in the cabana (great experience!) in a nice, natural breeze, and my room had a nice viewing spot to lay down and look out over the jungle area. Possible to take safari’s from here. The food/drinks served were also real good. Happy to have stayed/rested here.
For directions: many (if not all) busses from Ella/Wellawaya to Matara/Tissamaharama will pass close by the RestSafari. Get off at 22 Junction (bus drivers know). It will cost about Rs. 200-350, and from the Junction you can take a local bus, tuktuk or arrange something with the RestSafari.
Big Game - Yala by Eco Team is located on the edge of Yala National Parks, a 20-minute drive from the Katagamuwa park entrance.

This camping site is in a good position.Afternoon walk and afternoon tea are free so far, especially afternoon walk is worth to go for,I saw a lot of monkeys and birds,because we just walked beside the fence of Yala National Park.
The dinner is delicious,including a bowl of soup ,roast chicken and sea fish, dessert,of course it’s not free.In the night, I saw some of the fireflies.when I waked up,I heard different birds singing.It’s very nice.
You can take a hot shower in the tent.but the water is salty.

Enjoy the great outdoors at a campground or RV park. Sleep under the stars in a cabin or bungalow, pre-pitched tent, RV, or caravan. Communal kitchens, bathrooms, and recreational facilities are available, and most campsites will have a reception desk.
This is one of our favorite place in Sri Lanka . Super friendly staff . They offer Tasty food. Room is very clean. They organized our safari . It was fantastic. We saw 2 leopard and so many animals. Highly recommended.
The owner Priya is an amazing host! He's super friendly and funny. He picked us up from the bus stop, welcomed us and in the evening gave a (free) tour of Lake Tissa, where he could tell us a lot about all the different kind of birds/animals we saw there! Next day we went on an awesome safari for a reasonable price, and saw a lot of wildlife!! Room was very clean and nice, great food. Would 100% recommend this place!
Janaka hotel was absolutely impeccable. We had a very clean room. At the same time, there was wonderful food and a beautiful pool that was available for everyone to use. The pool was clean, as was the room when we arrived. The organization was also very, very good, as Janaka and his family provided us with dinner in the evening and then explained the schedule for the next day. Our safari, which started at 5:30 AM, was an absolute dream. We would book here again anytime. Thank you for everything.

Very clean - the safari arranged by the owner was very good - great pool - staff very attentive and diligent - beautiful garden - Location on the edge of the city was good for us, we had rented a tuktuk ourselves and were therefore mobile.
