I was initially looking for places to stay in Lucerne, but ended up finding Elisabeth and Felix’s place in Emmetten and I am so thankful we did! Lucerne is a bustling beautiful city, but Emmetten, just 15 min car ride away is a small, quaint mountain without the crowds and with incredible views of the lake (in my opinion even better than Lucerne). We only were only able to stay two nights, but wish we could have stayed many more to try more hikes and mountain biking. It was very easy for us to do a day trip into Lucerne on our way out do town. You also must try Susi’s pizza- just a 5 min walk away. The place was impeccably clean and Elizabeth and Felix were prompt and dependable hosts. We traveled with our 18 month old son and had no issues. Honestly if you want to see Lucerne but stay somewhere more affordable with better views, this is the place!

Located in Stans’ village square, Hotel Engel provides modern rooms with contemporary furniture and a minimalistic design. The café bar offers a terrace overlooking the square. Great value for money here. It was super cosy and easy to find. Lots of places for a small hike or just a walk around town. The restaurant was amazing for dinner!

Located in Beckenried, right at the shore of Lake Lucerne, Superior Hotel Nidwaldnerhof features a lake-view terrace and offers free WiFi access and free garage parking, with each room having its own... We arrived after check-in hours and the staff were very nice and helpful. Since we arrived after the restaurant was close, they made us sandwiches a and salads. The room was great also and the views were good.

Set in Dallenwil, Pilgerhaus Maria-Rickenbach - Anreise nur via Luftseilbahn möglich has a garden, terrace, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property. Highly recommended to those looking to get away from the crowds! Beautiful location high above the valley, yet easy to get to via an aerial tram that departs from the Niederrickenbach train station, a short hop from Lucerne. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent and vegetarian friendly. This is a great starting point for hikes in a gorgeous part of Switzerland - near the hotel, there's a 4 person tram to the Musenalp on the mountain above (https://www.musenalp-nw.ch/bahn/) and it's a 20-30 minute walk to the most unique chairlift I've even encountered (https://haldigrat.ch/). We only stayed two nights - next time we're planning on a longer stay!

Boasting lake views, The 1415 See I Erlebnis I Luzern features accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 22 km from Lucerne Station. Stunning view of the mountains and lake in the snowing season. Very clean and comfortable during our stay. What a lovely house it is.

Located just 24 km from Lucerne Station, Chez-Marie Vue fantastique entre lac et montagne offers accommodation in Beckenried with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as a 24-hour front... Amazing appartment and location. Mount titlis is 20 min, Luzern town is 20 min and even Gothard tunnel is 35 min away. Beautiful view from terrace.

Beautiful comfortable apartment, was very well stocked, it had everything our family needed, perfect location, great views. The owners Elisabeth and Felix were wonderful, very attentive and accommodating, they gave us lots of information about Emmetten and the area.

Set in Emmetten in the Nidwalden region, Apartment Petrani by Interhome has a balcony and mountain views. The view was beautiful, a large glass door opened onto the balcony. The hosts are kind and helpful. Very well equipped apartman.
