I was initially looking for places to stay in Lucerne, but ended up finding Elisabeth and Felix’s place in Emmetten and I am so thankful we did! Lucerne is a bustling beautiful city, but Emmetten, just 15 min car ride away is a small, quaint mountain without the crowds and with incredible views of the lake (in my opinion even better than Lucerne). We only were only able to stay two nights, but wish we could have stayed many more to try more hikes and mountain biking. It was very easy for us to do a day trip into Lucerne on our way out do town. You also must try Susi’s pizza- just a 5 min walk away. The place was impeccably clean and Elizabeth and Felix were prompt and dependable hosts. We traveled with our 18 month old son and had no issues. Honestly if you want to see Lucerne but stay somewhere more affordable with better views, this is the place!

Hotel Engel ligger vid torget i Stans och erbjuder moderna rum med moderna möbler och minimalistisk design. Kafébaren har en terrass med utsikt över torget. Great value for money here. It was super cosy and easy to find. Lots of places for a small hike or just a walk around town. The restaurant was amazing for dinner!

Superior Hotel Nidwaldnerhof ligger vid Vierwaldstättersee i Beckenried och har en terrass med utsikt över sjön, gratis WiFi och gratis parkering i garage. We arrived after check-in hours and the staff were very nice and helpful. Since we arrived after the restaurant was close, they made us sandwiches a and salads. The room was great also and the views were good.

Pilgerhaus Maria-Rickenbach - Anreise nur via Luftseilbahn möglich ligger i Dallenwil och erbjuder boende med trädgård, terrass och restaurang samt gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Highly recommended to those looking to get away from the crowds! Beautiful location high above the valley, yet easy to get to via an aerial tram that departs from the Niederrickenbach train station, a short hop from Lucerne. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent and vegetarian friendly. This is a great starting point for hikes in a gorgeous part of Switzerland - near the hotel, there's a 4 person tram to the Musenalp on the mountain above (https://www.musenalp-nw.ch/bahn/) and it's a 20-30 minute walk to the most unique chairlift I've even encountered (https://haldigrat.ch/). We only stayed two nights - next time we're planning on a longer stay!

Elfe-apartments cozy apartment with lake view for 6-7 guests ligger i Emmetten, 27 km från Lucerne station och 28 km från Lejonmonumentet, och erbjuder utsikt över sjön. Beautiful comfortable apartment, was very well stocked, it had everything our family needed, perfect location, great views. The owners Elisabeth and Felix were wonderful, very attentive and accommodating, they gave us lots of information about Emmetten and the area.

Apartment Petrani by Interhome har utsikt över bergen och erbjuder boende med ski-in/ski-out och en balkong, 27 km från Lucerne station. The view was beautiful, a large glass door opened onto the balcony. The hosts are kind and helpful. Very well equipped apartman.
