Caldeira Guesthouse is situated in Calheta, 100 metres from the Atlantic Ocean, in the Azorean São Jorge Island. I loved everything about this house and my stay here. It is located in an absolutely beautiful place and the green colors surrounding it is something that has to be seen in person as pictures does not do it justice. The house has amazing views, my room was nice and clean and had a very comfortable bed and I had the best night of sleep I have had in a long time. I opted to have breakfast and dinner the two days I was there and both were great and you got to meet and talk to the other people that was staying there. The staff was lovely and David was very helpful and welcoming. This place made me feel so at peace and happy and it did wonders to my soul. The hikes in the area was amazing with spectacular views and to just sit and watch and listen to the ocean brought me so much joy. I did not want to leave and I actually had a chance to get a free ride to the airport but chose not to take it so I could stay an hour and half longer and I'm not a rich person and normally conservative with money. It was so worth it.

We were especially impressed by the thoughtfulness of the cleaning staff and reception. Little gestures like chocolates on the pillow and sweets at the entrance made a difference, making us feel welcome and as though we were spending time in a family home—unlike other places. The local treats, apples, coffee, and tea available throughout the day were a nice, thoughtful addition. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the view of the port from our room was very nice. We enjoyed waking up to the gentle sound of church bells in the morning, and the refreshing little terrace was perfect for relaxing. The breakfast, which was included, was truly delicious and a great way to start the day. We can’t wait to come back!

Rui's home is located at the end of the village in the most peaceful area with a stunning view. Yet it's close to everything. We had an amazing time here. Rui is the most amazing host I've ever meet. He is helpful, thoughtful and always available to help with anything that can come up. Rui helped us to plan our stay on the island, gave us ideas what to visit and welcomed us like we were family. Rui's place is not just another nice accomodation on the island, it's a home away from home. And I would recommend anyone who wants to have a real Sao Jorge experience to stay with Rui. We will definitely return.

Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were very clean. I'm coming back to Jardim do Triângulo next time I come to São Jorge.

Perched on the mountains of São Jorge Island, Cantinho offers a furnished terrace with an infinity pool and a hot tub. It offers luxurious, air-conditioned apartments with a private patio. The suite has 2 decent sized bedrooms with king beds (2 twins together), which were very comfortable. One bedroom had a 3 piece ensuite bathroom and the other 3 piece bathroom was just down the hall from the 2nd bedroom. The kitchen had great appliances, including a washer and clothing steamer. We really enjoyed the patio area with inside views of the courtyard. It was a great location where we could easily walk to the gardens, harbour and shopping area.
