I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shogo's home, and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. This 150-year-old historical building, offers a charming blend of tradition and modern comfort for a memorable stay. Shogo, the owner, was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout my stay. He went above and beyond to ensure that I had a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Not only did he provide excellent recommendations for local restaurants, but he also made reservations on my behalf. The location was nice and easy to find if you go by a car, with the added bonus of having an onsen and a supermarket nearby. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere.

Our friendly hostess, Hiroko, went out of her way to make our stay exceptional. She took us to our destination twice, and served amazing breakfasts. Our comfortable room and bathroom, and the location close to the station were also great.

Located within 700 meters of Nara Station and 19 km of Iwafune Shrine, SLOW HOUSE NARA provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Nara. I really liked the experience of the guest house as well as the atmosphere of the location. Big plus, the staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful! Especially with local food recommendations.

Renovating a Japanese-style private house with a 100-year history, Guesthouse Tamura offers an accommodation in Fushigazushi-cho, Nara. This is not a typical hostel where there are lots of people living in the same room with a chill vibe, but I like this hostel a lot. Located in the residential area (pretty close to many tourist attractions though), this hostel is adapted from a single-family-detached-home and is run by the Tamura family. The host was a welcoming lady who showed the facilities in detailed once I arrived at the place. In my room (mixed dorm), there're only 4 bunks and 2 of them are empty during my one night stay so it's really great. The bed is cozy, the facilities are good to use and free(like slippers, toothbrush set, towels, water & barley tea etc.) There're two shower room (and one of them is traditional japanese style bathtub. The host prepared warm water for us to use in advance. Not a lot to say but I love the tranquil vibe of the hostel itself as well as the surroundings. If I will revisit Nara again, I'll come here again.

A 5-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, Guest House Oku is located a 15-minute walk from JR Nara station. Guest House Oku features a total of 3 guest rooms and free WiFi throughout the property. Yoko-san makes the well located comfortable guesthouse top-knotch. She choose to have this and you can tell she is very passionate and informed about the area. Gave great recommendations and ready to help with anything you need. The place is a super nice experience to living in a traditional style house, while also having modern comforts. The women bunk beds were costume made for nice and spacey comfort. And location is perfectly nestled in a quiet neighborhood very close to the park. protip there’s a bike rental place 1 minute around the corner.

The 100-year old Guesthouse Naramachi offers simple Japanese-style accommodation just a 5-minute walk from JR Kyobate Train Station. The property is completely non-smoking. A very charming guesthouse, ideally located 5min walk from the JR station (Kyobate). From Nara station, it takes around 20min walk to get there. The host was amazing, so helpful and nice, giving his advice on the places to go out for dinner, public baths, etc. He helped us to send our luggage to our next step location, and we are so grateful he did. Thank you so much for this great stay, we strongly recommend this place to stay ! :)

I loved the spaciousness of the property, the kindness of the owners and the delicious homemade breakfast every morning. There are various community events held each week and many opportunities to meet interesting people from the Ikoma area. The short distance to the station is also a plus!
