The room was very clean and spacious, and the hotel was conveniently located (just 10 minutes’ walk from the Gonoura ferry pier; 5 minutes’ walk from the majority of restaurants and bars). The host was extremely lovely and hospitable, a perfect example of Japanese “Omotenashi”. The breakfast was outstanding!

Boasting a sauna, 木木木木 KIGI MOKU MOKU is situated in Sasebo. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Breakfast was so awesome. The owner lady got up early in the morning and she prepared a Japanese-style breakfast with warm care. I was able to use the sauna even after the breakfast, so I had a pleasant meal and enjoyed the sauna. I left after enjoying a very good rest in hospitality that I can't feel anywhere else in Japan. The bedding in the room was comparable to a 5-star hotel. All the usable spaces were really clean and organized, so just looking at them made me feel good. The usable space is very large compared to typical accommodations in Japan.

島宿糸 provides a public bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Iki. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Your hosts Usan and Masumi are amazingly friendly and wonderful hosts. They cook delicious food for you and help you enjoy your stay. The location is very peaceful, with nearby beaches, sights and ports.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Yukinoura Guest House Moritaya is located in Saikai, 39 km from Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum and 43 km from Nagasaki Museum of History. Staff was incredibly friendly and treated us very well. It was a pleasure to talk with everyone. The whole place felt like home. I would definitely visit again!

Situated 2.2 km from Jotobana, 14 km from Mizunoura Church and 15 km from Gyogasaki Park, Private House Mariage maison offers accommodation set in Goto. The place is very clean and comfy, with all the facilities you’d need. We were worried about transportation on the island and other logistical issues, but our host is so lovely and helpful. We can’t be luckier to have her!

Situated within 47 km of Nagasaki Museum of History and 48 km of Nagasaki Station, TSUDOI guest house features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Unzen. The host is fantastic and so is the small but cosy town.

Close to both Nagasaki Museum of History and Nagasaki Station, GardenRoom bnb Yumyum is set in Nagasaki and has a hot tub and garden. We really enjoyed our stay at GardenRoom BNB Yumyum. Previously in Japan we had only stayed in generic hotels so it was nice to stay somewhere with more character. The owners are very friendly and kind. They speak a little English so with the help of Google translate you can get by. We were happy with the location, it was walkable to most places, there was a 7-11 a few minutes away and it was close to a tram stop. We liked the room, the bed was comfortable, there was aircon, a fridge and kettle etc (we stayed in one of the western style rooms). We usually avoid shared bathrooms but they were clean and we had no issues even on a night where the BNB was busy. The breakfast was a real highlight. It is Japanese style and was completely different every day, so it allowed us to try a lot of different things as there would always be 3 or 4 ramekins of small items, a soup, a salad, and a main dish. It was also very substantial as there was always bread and rice freely available to go with it, You could help yourself to coffee and water, and tea is available if you prefer. We would be very happy if everywhere we stayed in Japan was like this.

Guesthouse Wasabi is located in Iki and offers a garden and a shared lounge. The property features sea and mountain views. From the very first moments on the island we felt very comfortable, the accommodation manager picked us up from the harbour on the opposite side of Iki island from the accommodation. Once we arrived at the Guesthouse Wasabi it was a surprise. Rooms kept very well, clean, spacious and very bright. Common areas always clean and well-kept, provided with all kinds of services and the kitchen well equipped. We rented electric bikes for our entire stay and this allowed us to visit heavenly beaches that would have been too far away on foot. Special thanks to Takuya, our host, who was always very kind and infinitely helpful and made our stay so special.
