Surprisingly though amenities is not near, it turned out to be a favorite for my city kids.

It is a perfect stop to explore Ōbi-shi and its samurai district if you want to avoid the high costs associated with sleeping directly in ōbi.

Located within 1.4 km of Cape Iruka and 6.8 km of Horikiri Pass, The Little Garden provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Miyazaki. You can feel that the owner care about this house. Everything was clean, comfortable, well equiped. The feel was like to stay at home. Ocean view is incredible. I enjoyed my stay very much. There is a bus to the main attractions right downhill on the main road.

Boasting garden views, Tabist Guest house Pumping Surf offers accommodation with a garden, around 20 km from Totoro-kō. This 2-star guest house offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge. We had an awesome stay at Pumping Surf. If you like to do some surfing in Japan in a relaxing atmosphere you are at the perfect spot. Super cozy Hostel, nicely designed with all the light bulbs. Easy walk through the forest to the beach which was perfect for surfing. Great surfing lesson by the owner, who was super kind and skilled in teaching.

Offering a garden and garden view, Wood be good inn is situated in Nichinan, 18 km from Udo-jingu Shrine and 28 km from Cape Iruka. A beautiful wooden house, calm and integrated into the nature and close to some great surfspots. The host family is very friendly and acommodating. Harry and Ryoko will make sure that you really enjoy your stay with them.

Located in Ebino, Dan Hiyori - Vacation STAY 08978v has accommodation 37 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine. Yuko was very hospitable and the room provided was very comfortable and clean. Her home cooked food made from her homegrown ingredients are superb. We can tell she is passionate in the food she makes as she mixes flavours to achieve a really delicious taste. We also enjoyed a time of boardgames after dinner in her cosy living room.

Offering sea views, ゲストハウス たまのや is an accommodation set in Hyuga, 27 km from Totoro-kō and 39 km from Saitobaru Tomb. This guest house features free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Everything, but mostly Kei (the owner) which the most formidable and friendly person on heart.

Guest House Shizuho, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Takachiho, 2.2 km from Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium, 7.4 km from Amanoiwato Shrine, as well as 43 km from Ogidake Park... The owner very friendly. I recommend here if you have plan to go Takachiho George.

Located in Hyuga and only 24 km from Totoro-kō, Guesthouse ＆ Beach Cafe Fuego provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The owners were incredibly lovely, they welcomed us quite late but we still had time to order dinner, which was delicious. We had the singapore-style chicken and it was amazing. The hospitality made us feel like long-lost friends - it was really incredible. We had breakfast there in the morning and they even made the bread themselves, it was soft and fluffy but toasted to perfection. After that, we felt more than ready for a long day of exploring the coast. I would definitely recommend staying here. However, as indicated in the booking, showers are shared. It is also slightly noisy with a large road nearby and some train tracks. Bring earplugs :) 100% would stay here again.
