The old-style Japanese house is a nice experience, especially if you are a “beginner” in discovering Japan (which we are not). The hosts are the kindest, they will help you with anything and be extremely happy to discuss with you. It is a perfect stop to explore Ōbi-shi and its samurai district if you want to avoid the high costs associated with sleeping directly in ōbi.

One of the best places I’ve stayed at during my time in Japan! The room is comfortable, the view from the shared kitchen is amazing and the hosts are really nice and helpful. I didn’t have a car but there’s a bus stop nearby with 4-5 busses a day in each direction - so if you wanna visit Aoshima or Udo Jingu it‘s easily accessible from there, even without a car!

If you like to do some surfing in Japan in a relaxing atmosphere you are at the perfect spot. Super cozy Hostel, nicely designed with all the light bulbs. Easy walk through the forest to the beach which was perfect for surfing. Great surfing lesson by the owner, who was super kind and skilled in teaching.

A beautiful wooden house, calm and integrated into the nature and close to some great surfspots. The host family is very friendly and acommodating. Harry and Ryoko will make sure that you really enjoy your stay with them.

Dan Hiyori - Vacation STAY 08978v ligger i Ebino og tilbyder indkvartering 37 km fra Kirishima Jingu-helligdommen. Yuko was very hospitable and the room provided was very comfortable and clean. Her home cooked food made from her homegrown ingredients are superb. We can tell she is passionate in the food she makes as she mixes flavours to achieve a really delicious taste. We also enjoyed a time of boardgames after dinner in her cosy living room.

Guest House Shizuho ligger i Takachiho, 2,2 km fra Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium, 7,4 km fra Amanoiwato-helligdommen og 43 km fra Ogidake Park Viewing Platform. The owner very friendly. I recommend here if you have plan to go Takachiho George.

Denne lejlighed ligger i Hyuga, blot 24 km fra Totoro-kō. Guesthouse & Beach Cafe Fuego tilbyder indkvartering med havudsigt, gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering. The owners were incredibly lovely, they welcomed us quite late but we still had time to order dinner, which was delicious. We had the singapore-style chicken and it was amazing. The hospitality made us feel like long-lost friends - it was really incredible. We had breakfast there in the morning and they even made the bread themselves, it was soft and fluffy but toasted to perfection. After that, we felt more than ready for a long day of exploring the coast. I would definitely recommend staying here. However, as indicated in the booking, showers are shared. It is also slightly noisy with a large road nearby and some train tracks. Bring earplugs :) 100% would stay here again.
