However when the staff spke to us and realised we needed alternative options, they were very quick to make the arrangements for us. In addition, we needed an early morning taxi to catch our train so they made the necessary arrangements for us and even served us coffee for breakfast, even though their kitchen was still closed.

Surrounded by serene pasture and vegetable fields, Pension Megumiyuki is situated just a 4-minute drive from Biei Station. We loved our friendly hosts and their family, nothing was too much trouble, they were so kind and helpful, a delicious breakfast each morning and with ideas for exploring and the loan of their electric bikes, wonderful biking around the countryside. Biei is a perfect small town, easy to get around, great restaurants. We drove to Asahidake and despite a cloudy light rain day we loved a day hike to Susodaira Valley and on towards Nakodake Onsen, afterwards a divine soak at Asahidake Onsen. Arigato
