One of the best guesthouses I have ever stayed in - do yourself a favour and book this guesthouse! After a tiring long day of travel to BL I was welcomed with a refreshing complimentary drink, upgrade to my room and ordered the best Gado Gado I have ever had for dinner. The room was beautiful, clean, large and the bed was super comfortable. A highlight of the property is the beautiful scenery and serenity - situated in a quiet, peaceful area overlooking rice paddies, palm trees, mountains and if you’re lucky a volcano can be spotted in the distance on a clear day. The family who own & run this guesthouse are beautiful - made me feel completely at home, helped with anything I needed and we had some great chats overlooking the beautiful rice paddies each night. The owners shared stories of the area and broader Sumatra helping me plan my onward travel, I loved cuddling with their sweet dog Padi and playing with their little boy Osaka. The other staff were also so sweet and helpful. Even though it is a little further from the main area/where I was starting my hike, they dropped me off and picked me up, and have everything on site (food, drinks, shops nearby etc) so not an issue at all. And I much preferred because in this less touristy area that has a real local, authentic feel. I extended my stay one night after my hike and if I had time, would have stayed even longer. Will definitely be back here in the future.

Nastanitev Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa je v mestu Bukit Lawang in ponuja vrt. Gostišče nudi teraso in razgled na gore, privoščite pa si lahko tudi obrok v restavraciji ali pijačo v baru. The restaurant inside the lodge was very good, the food was super tasty. Good location for starting a orangutan trekking!

But most of all: The delightful hosts who will do anything in their power to make you feel as comfortable as possible and deliver the services that you may want or need. They are genuinely good people who really care about you, the community and also the environment. Tips: - Go have dinner with them at least once. Yuyun is a really good cook. And there is a future restaurant in the making! - Ask Borja for tips what to do around the island and where to get the best coffee. - Rent a scooter from the hosts to see the island. They are safe, well-maintained and helmets available. - Rent snorkel equipment from the hosts. (One of) the most beautiful snorkeling spot(s) is right in front of you. - If you want to go diving, make sure to enquire about it with Borja and Yuyun as they are both divemasters.

Nastanitev Juma cottages se nahaja v mestu Tuk Tuk in ponuja vrt, teraso ter restavracijo. V nastanitvi vsaka soba ponuja balkon. We would like to thank the owner and his lovely staff for our stay at Juma cottages. The owner picked us up at the ferry pier and we were able to do some laundry, which was very handy. We loved the location on the shore of Lake Toba, the room was huge and extremely confortable with a great bed. Shower was separate from the toilet by a short wall, which is rare enough to be mentioned. The food was very good also (I will dream of the delicious guacamole taco) with a wide choice and freshly made. The garden was very well maintained just like in the picture :)

You felt right at home, which made it even more comfortable. It’s away from the busy city of Medan and within a little bit of nature.

The staff are so kind and friendly, really made the experience great. Sarah was very communicative during the booking process too. Eli the chef is really talented, we wished we could have eaten more there!

Nastanitev Toba Sunset se nahaja v mestu Tuk Tuk in nudi vrt, teraso, opremo za vodne športe ter razgled na gore. WiFi in zasebno parkirišče sta v nastanitvi Toba Sunset v ponudbi brez doplačila. Comfortable, clean and quiet; kind host; 15 minutes walking to centre; 40 minutes walking to Siallagan’s stone chairs; reasonable price. I do recommend this place.

Nastanitev Kupu Kupu Garden Guest House & Cafe je v mestu Bukit Lawang in ponuja vrt, teraso ter restavracijo. Vsaka soba ponuja balkon s pogledom na gore. As a solo traveler traveling in low season, I expected there might be some inconveniences. however, the staffs of Kupukupu helped me to overcome all the difficulties, planning and arranging my trips well with good value. I also like the cookings from their kitchen. You need to order dinner in the morning then they can buy fresh food in the day and cook the dishes well. I tried some other restaurant with high rating in the village, unfortunately, their food are not fresh at all. I really appreciate the Kupu Kupu kitchen prepares the dishes with heart, even for one single guest.

Price, Staff, food and accommodation was sooo nice, nature bath in the river, jungle road to place. Live in a deep nature-that’s what I really want in Bukit Lawang.
