From the moment we were greeted at the door by Adrian, the whole stay was a delight. Y Fan is such a beautiful building, and has been restored/transformed with empathy and taste. The bedrooms are all of a good size, with beautiful en suite bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds. Breakfasts are freshly cooked, (with local produce where possible) and are generous in size. Adrian and Christine looked after us very well This was my third visit, and I'm hoping there will be a fourth next year..

Set in Gilwern and only 26 km from Longtown Castle, Pantybeiliau House Bed & Breakfast offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Our stay in the Sugar Loaf suite was delightful from start to finish. The approach to this imposing stately home is stunning, as are the gardens and surrounding mountains. Our 3-room suite (bedroom, sitting room, enormous bath) was beautifully decorated, with obvious thought given to guests’ every comfort. If you love antiques, 4-poster beds, floral chintz and a large claw foot soaking tub, this is for you! Views from windows on 3 sides, even from the tub. A balcony from which to enjoy the perfectly manicured gardens. Wonderful breakfasts! (Dinners by special arrangement and highly recommended.). Best of all: the hosts, Harry and Nicola. They will attend to your every wish, and they have wonderful stories to tell of championship equestrian competition and of Nicola’s father, an internationally famous cricketer.

Set in Raglan and only 45 km from Bristol Parkway Station, Art House B & B offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The whole stay was amazing. The hosts did everything they could to help us have an amazing stay for a wedding which we had down the road. The breakfast was also great with lovely fresh fruit and pastries and the grounds around the house were stunning. I love that it’s filled with the hosts artwork and sculptures. We’re already planning a trip back but this time to do a bit of walking and exploring. Couldn’t recommend more!

Offering a garden and mountain view, Gellihaf House is situated in Blackwood, 23 km from Cardiff University and 25 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus. Howard and Cath were welcoming and anticipated all our needs. Room, bed and bath were large and lovely as is the house itself. Breakfast choice great, especially the avocado Chile lime egg toast!

Ty Castell Guest House is situated in Caerphilly, 13 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus, 13 km from Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, as well as 14 km from Cardiff Castle. Our host Steve very accommodating. I didn't know how many nights I needed and Steve made it very easy to chop and change. Guesthouse very nice

Mill Lodge-Brecon Beacons in Gilwern provides adults-only accommodation with a garden and barbecue facilities. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The hosts are very nice and the rooms are spotless. Between 2 nice towns and a whole lot of beautiful nature this is the perfect spot to come for some rest. Really recommend this to everyone.

Located in Abergavenny, 49 km from Cardiff University, Ty Llew Lodge features a bar and views of the quiet street. I had the most amazing stay at the Ty Llew Lodge! The host and staff are so friendly and made me feel right at home. The breakfast is exceptionally tasty with many options. My room was very clean and the breakfast and reading rooms were cozy as well. It's also only a 10-15 minute walk into downtown Abergavenny.
