love the city where i was staying the market place and the beautiful walking areas around the ocean front .nice and clean and the warm temperatures , but expensive because of the Canadian dollar difference .
It was nice and there was music and people everywhere but it was too expensive. We went to one of the bars and between three of us we had 2 drinks each and two of the people had an additional shot. The bill was $146! They include the tip no matter where you eat or drink.
The Hamilton downtown was a very nice motel with near by restaurants that were reasonable and in walking distance. The Hilton by the airport was overpriced, but it did have a shuttle to the airport. You have to weigh your pros & cons of what you really want. Getting around Miami was not easy but the taxi service was better than Uber, after waiting 35 min for a scheduled Uber at the airport the driver cancelled. Took a taxi and it was the same price. No waiting ! If you have ADA that matters with luggage. Airport was fabulous & port was fabulous for the ADA a commendations.
Plenty to do and see with a fantastic beach if you just want to sit in the sun. It’s not cheap even visiting Americans commented it was expensive but for three days it was a lot of fun! The art deco area is great, has plenty of very good shopping in Lincoln Road and good restaurants for lunch or Dinner. Recommend the hop on hop off bus tour of Miami.
This is my third time in the city and I never stay more than 4 days and I think it's enough. It's a big city like many others and there are lots of things to do as a couple or family, like going out to dinner, museums, the beach, but the possibilities are easily exhausted. I like being there because I have family, but as a tourist, I think it's limited, in 2 days you can get to know the city well. It's a city that requires a car, as there's little public transportation. I recommend visiting South Beach, walking along Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, Wynwood, Brickell, Miami Design District and going to the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (we loved it!!!).
Look, it really depends on what you like. I did a half day tour and cruise which gave me a taste of the Miami area and walked up and down the entire length of Miami Beach. I'm not into clubs and nightlife but the beach is worth a swim. The art deco buildings are cool to look at and the colourful painted buildings are lovely. It's a bit if a show offy town, so if you are into an that, you'll enjoy.
