The beach is stunning, it's lovely walking up and down the promenade on a sunny day. You can rent sun loungers and parasols on the beach. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. You can walk easily as there are plenty of walkways and it's flat but the distances e.g. mid-beach to South Beach can be far. Alternatively there is a free trolley bus service that runs routes up and down the beach and also in town. We also used the local paid for bus which was good but as we didn't have a travel card or US credit card we had to pay in cash which was fine, it's quite good value. We ate in some really nice restaurants, but be prepared to spend a lot of money with sales tax and 20-30% tip on top for each meal, even the supermarkets are eye wateringly expensive! Mid-beach felt very safe and peaceful, we had a lovely stay and I could have stayed longer, especially when the sun came out!
Miami is in exiting city! It is an eclectic mixture of Cuban culture and American metropolis. Miami Beach is the famous place where everybody goes to swim and enjoy nightlife. The mild temperatures make the ocean swimmable all year round. Little Havana has some great restaurants and cigar shops. There is an art district with interesting murals. There are plenty of guided tours, including a boat tour of the houses of the rich and famous, which we didn’t take. Although Miami is too big for comfort to me and I would never want to live there, I recommend visiting it at least once in your lifetime.
Amazing water front location. One can choose to hang out at the pool or take a short walk to the beach. Access to the beach is through a see through fence with a secure gate centrally located between the white sandy beach and the pool area where one can enjoy the palm trees, shaded areas, and hotel dining services. Two restaurants service the swimming pool area. Poolside food and drink service is provided at your lounge chair. The hotel reminds me of high end resorts on the 7 mile beach at Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean. In addition, our top floor room had a huge outdoor balcony facing the beach which gave us a great perspective of the hotel's grounds and layout.
We traveled for 24 hours from Ontario. CAN and lucked out by getting in at your resort. We had a great check in girl, Sonja, who completely made our stay the best ever. She knew we had, had some issues but gave us the best room ever. We made it to the bar outside for a couple of drinks. It was New Years Eve and we made it to the bar inside for more drinks, and great apps. Getting back to our room around midnight, we experienced great fireworks everywhere. The next day we stayed at the outdoor pool all day with90 degree weather. We will definitely chose this hotel over any other hotels in the area, thanks to Sonja.
It was our first visit and there's something for everyone. Loads of interesting tours, the transport is great, with a free bus around Miami beach and regular buses to downtown Miami. Also, bikes to hire all the way along the beach. Absolutely loved Ocean Drive, how it was quiet in the mornings and became more alive as the day went on. The boardwalk, the path just behind the beach, was lovely and apparently runs the full length of the beach. Also loved watching the cruise ships sailing out each evening.
The weather was perfect as were the beaches . Water was quite choppy some days although plenty of lifeguards to look after everyone . Such a diverse place with rich history .lovely friendly people . Wynwood area has amazing artwork on the buildings and interesting galleries. Restaurants were amazing with a great choice of cuisines . South beach has lovely buildings . Bay Area was nice to wander . It can be very expensive especially in certain areas like the bay. Food and drinks can be overpriced then taxes added , ( tax varies area to area ) , then service charge , then tip . A very busy and noisy place with lots of tourists. Everyone seemed to have a wee dog ( dog poo was an issue on pavements ). We didn’t hire a car as the driving looked insane with lots of car horns blaring for what appears to be no reason , plus parking was extortionate.Easy to get around , there are free trams , inexpensive buses , uber and Lyft were excellent value and readily available . Palm trees everywhere it does look beautiful. We had a fabulous time , lots to do , see and experience .
