This is a really unique place to stay! I'm a big fan of craft beer and traditional architecture, so this guesthouse is the perfect combination for me! The owner is really laid-back and speaks English, and the bartender Nao is very friendly and good for a chat! Really cool atmosphere in the traditional style rooms, but with splashes of modern art around. The beers made here are all really delicious, my friends and I really enjoyed hanging out in the bar area and talking with local people that came in for a drink.

Located in Matsuyama, the recently renovated いわしの子守唄 Sardine Lullaby provides accommodation 3.8 km from Taisanji Temple and 4.7 km from Enmyoji Temple. The amazing breakfast and the heart warming friendliness of the hosts are the biggest advantages of this place. Strolling through the little harbour town Mitsu is lovely and the train will take you in 15 mins to downtown Matsuyama.

Located in Mitsuhama, 2.1 km from Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine, 三津ミーツ provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. Nice small well orgznized ryokan with tatami setup at the room. Nice quiet neighbourhood, with access to many nearby groceries like Lamu which operate 24hrs, and many other restaurants. Closer to the harbor seaside with short walking distance. The owner is really a nice lady which provided us lots of guidance to explore the nearby attraction places. Will certainly visit this place for a longer period in the near future!

Situated within 3.2 km of Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine and 4 km of Matsuyama Station, Hotel Fine Garden Matsuyama provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Matsuyama. Big room. Very spacious and value for money. But do note that is good only if you drive. There is basically nothing around the hotel. Breakfast was a big portion.

Set 2.1 km from Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine and 3.9 km from Taisanji Temple in Matsuyama, 旧鈴木邸 女性専用 offers accommodation with a kitchenette. The old resident house was built in the early 1900s and has been very well maintained. Our hosts were so lovely and very generous! They welcomed us with small gifts and a map to show us the best sites to see. Location is very easily accessible by train.

Located just a 3-minute walk from JR Matsuyama Station, Hotel Sunroute Matsuyama is a 10-minute tram ride from Matsuyama Castle. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Matsuyama Airport. Stayed in the hotel as part of a solo walking henro trip. Everything was good with this hotel stay- room ws fine, clean and comfortable. Location near the Matsyama JR station was convinient. As with other hotels had to wait till the checkin time so was able to leave my backpack and walk around the area. When I returned they have already moved my backpack to the room (nice).

Just a minute’s walk from JR Matsuyama Station, Terminal Hotel Matsuyama houses a restaurant and offers Western-style rooms with free Wi-Fi. Free bicycle rentals are provided. Staff, location and cleanliness were 100%! Couldn't ask for more, had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it. Grateful for the discount to the super sento (bath) across the road too.

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Sky Hotel is set in Matsuyama, 400 metres from Matsuyama Station and 1 km from Matsuyama Civic Center. Perfectly located close to the train station, the JR bus and the trolley who goes around town. Japanese room is cozy and spotless and the staff very helpful. I am considering going back.
