This is a really unique place to stay! I'm a big fan of craft beer and traditional architecture, so this guesthouse is the perfect combination for me! The owner is really laid-back and speaks English, and the bartender Nao is very friendly and good for a chat! Really cool atmosphere in the traditional style rooms, but with splashes of modern art around. The beers made here are all really delicious, my friends and I really enjoyed hanging out in the bar area and talking with local people that came in for a drink.

Located in Mitsuhama, 2.1 km from Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine, 三津ミーツ provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. Nice small well orgznized ryokan with tatami setup at the room. Nice quiet neighbourhood, with access to many nearby groceries like Lamu which operate 24hrs, and many other restaurants. Closer to the harbor seaside with short walking distance. The owner is really a nice lady which provided us lots of guidance to explore the nearby attraction places. Will certainly visit this place for a longer period in the near future!

Located a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Mitsuhama Train Station, Hotel Fine Garden Matsuyama is a 10-minute drive from Matsuyama Castle. Big room. Very spacious and value for money. But do note that is good only if you drive. There is basically nothing around the hotel. Breakfast was a big portion.

Situated in Mitsuhama, Kominka Mitsuhama Ryokan has a garden and free WiFi. Rooms are equipped with a terrace with a garden view. At the ryokan, each room includes free toiletries and a hair dryer. This was a unique stay. The owner is an artist in his soul and has created an environment that envelopes you in a the essence of Japan. There are two Japanese gardens complete with Koi fish you are invited to feed. There is a large living area besides the large bedroom that is yours to enjoy. The property is in the a quiet neighborhood with local restaurants within 3 or 4 blocks. Across the street is a manga library that you can explore. It’s all so gentle and accessible. I highly recommend you find this to answer your question as to what is Japan without the hype! Enjoy!!

Set 2.1 km from Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine and 3.9 km from Taisanji Temple in Matsuyama, 旧鈴木邸 女性専用 offers accommodation with a kitchenette. The old resident house was built in the early 1900s and has been very well maintained. Our hosts were so lovely and very generous! They welcomed us with small gifts and a map to show us the best sites to see. Location is very easily accessible by train.
