Jomon no Yado Manten offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 20 km of Shiratani Unsuikyo and 25 km of Yakusugi Land. The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

Set just 25 km from Yakusugi Land, Tomarigi features accommodation in Yakushima with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as bicycle parking. There is only 1 main accommodation area and the house has high roof, so it feels very open and spacious for me. Well ventilated with plenty of fresh air and natural light. I loved the feel of a wooden Japanese house. Everything was very clean and cozy. Loved the outdoor kitchen, lovely outdoor cooking experience; and outdoor areas, makes it easy to dry up after a rainy hiking day. The home is well equipped with racks and amenities (washing clothes, cooking). The host was so warm and caring, she checked in with you to provide necessary information on getting around and visiting Yakushima. Ask her about the meaning of the name Tomarigi, it’s very sweet. Thank you so much for my comfortable and close-to-nature stay, I had an amazing time!

Situated in Yakushima and only 18 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, Yakushima Cottage Kukai features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Host was very kind - drove me to Miyanoura for food and to catch my ferry. The cottage was very pleasant.

Situated in Tabugawa, 15 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo and 29 km from Yakusugi Land, 新築貸切 屋久島の地杉香る 完全貸切別荘 家族やグループでの利用にぴったり offers air conditioning. Well equipped, very comfortable, self contained house with ample living and bedroom spaces. Highly recommended!

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. Our host Mr Nakashima was very kind and generous during our stay. He always replied to our messages via bookings.com very quickly, so it was easy to ask any questions and get help whenever we needed. When we had to change our travel dates and book a different room for the last day, he was very understanding and went the extra mile to assist us in transferring our luggage to the new room. Needless to say, the cottages themselves were adorable and lovely! Very clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The best thing is the shoe dryer machine provided in the room. Because it rains so much in Yakushima, that device was invaluable in preparing our footwear for another day of adventure as they would be dry in no time! On the only one clear night we experienced, we were able to see some stars outside the room. The atmosphere is peaceful and you can hear birds chirping in the morning. It rained almost every day we visited, and yet we truly enjoyed our time in Yakushima thanks to the warm welcome from his family & colleagues, and appreciate all the help (especially advising us on the correct port to go for our departure ferry).

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko, a property with a garden, is located in Yakushima, 18 km from Yakusugi Land, 26 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, as well as 11 km from Yumiyahachiman Shrine. Wonderful hosts, especially Miho-san (shiny sparkling) is a really lovely woman with a cute smile so your mood will get immediately rise sky high! A bus stop is just down the street and food supply is not far in Anbo.

Boasting a sauna, SAKURA YAKUSHIMA is situated in Yakushima. Located 13 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, the property provides a garden. Nice and cozy place with large and warm kitchen. We especially liked the view outside. Would consider coming back again to enjoy the sauna.

Yakushima Green Hotel ligger en 3-minutters kjøretur fra Ambo havn, og tilbyr rom i japansk og vestlig stil med havutsikt. I liked the location because it was convenient to three different hiking areas. I had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable. The nightly dinners allowed me to sample many Japanese delicacies. Staff adapted well to my minimal Japanese language skills and were helpful in areas I needed help. There was good parking space for my rental car and it was convenient to a grocery store.
