Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

There is only 1 main accommodation area and the house has high roof, so it feels very open and spacious for me. Well ventilated with plenty of fresh air and natural light. I loved the feel of a wooden Japanese house. Everything was very clean and cozy. Loved the outdoor kitchen, lovely outdoor cooking experience; and outdoor areas, makes it easy to dry up after a rainy hiking day. The home is well equipped with racks and amenities (washing clothes, cooking). The host was so warm and caring, she checked in with you to provide necessary information on getting around and visiting Yakushima. Ask her about the meaning of the name Tomarigi, it’s very sweet. Thank you so much for my comfortable and close-to-nature stay, I had an amazing time!

Yakushima Pension Ichigoichie er 3 stjörnu gististaður í Yakushima, 25 km frá Yakusugi Land. Garður er til staðar. Gistirýmið er með loftkælingu og er 20 km frá Shiratani Unsuikyo. Very kind staff, calm surroundings, good value for money. I would return!

Yakushima Cottage Kukai er staðsett í Yakushima og er aðeins 18 km frá Shiratani Unsuikyo. Boðið er upp á gistirými með sjávarútsýni, ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði. Host was very kind - drove me to Miyanoura for food and to catch my ferry. The cottage was very pleasant.

Á Cottage Morinokokage geta gestir leigt sumarbústað með hengirúmi. Ókeypis WiFi er í boði á herbergjunum. Our host Mr Nakashima was very kind and generous during our stay. He always replied to our messages via bookings.com very quickly, so it was easy to ask any questions and get help whenever we needed. When we had to change our travel dates and book a different room for the last day, he was very understanding and went the extra mile to assist us in transferring our luggage to the new room. Needless to say, the cottages themselves were adorable and lovely! Very clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The best thing is the shoe dryer machine provided in the room. Because it rains so much in Yakushima, that device was invaluable in preparing our footwear for another day of adventure as they would be dry in no time! On the only one clear night we experienced, we were able to see some stars outside the room. The atmosphere is peaceful and you can hear birds chirping in the morning. It rained almost every day we visited, and yet we truly enjoyed our time in Yakushima thanks to the warm welcome from his family & colleagues, and appreciate all the help (especially advising us on the correct port to go for our departure ferry).

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko er gististaður með garði í Yakushima, 18 km frá Yakusugi Land, 26 km frá Shiratani Unsuikyo og 11 km frá Yumiyahachiman-helgiskríninu. Wonderful hosts, especially Miho-san (shiny sparkling) is a really lovely woman with a cute smile so your mood will get immediately rise sky high! A bus stop is just down the street and food supply is not far in Anbo.

SAKURA YAKUSHIMA er staðsett í Yakushima og státar af gufubaði. Gististaðurinn er 13 km frá Shiratani Unsuikyo og býður upp á garð. Nice and cozy place with large and warm kitchen. We especially liked the view outside. Would consider coming back again to enjoy the sauna.

Yakushima Green Hotel er í 3 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Ambo-höfn og býður upp á herbergi í japönskum og vestrænum stíl með sjávarútsýni. I liked the location because it was convenient to three different hiking areas. I had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable. The nightly dinners allowed me to sample many Japanese delicacies. Staff adapted well to my minimal Japanese language skills and were helpful in areas I needed help. There was good parking space for my rental car and it was convenient to a grocery store.
