Jomon no Yado Manten offers a sauna and free private parking, and is within 20 km of Shiratani Unsuikyo and 25 km of Yakusugi Land. The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

Set just 25 km from Yakusugi Land, Tomarigi features accommodation in Yakushima with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as bicycle parking. You can really feel the love in the home, a warm environment created by Satomi (owner). Communicating was never a problem because of her ability to express herself (and also google translate). She was very helpful and caring, and Tomarigi felt like a 2nd home with Satomi as the mother and the guests as her children.

Situated in Yakushima, 25 km from Yakusugi Land and 11 km from Scuba Diving Ever Blue Yakushima, Yakushima Pension Ichigoichie features accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. The little pension is run by a lovely grandma and grandpa. Very welcoming, even though there was a language barrier, as they do not speak English, we managed to get the point across via translation apps. They offer yummy breakfast and can prepare nice bento for you if you ask for it for lunch. The location is great, near the airport, however car is optimal for the best experience. The location of the pension is close to all of the main routes and key activities. We were staying in the private bathroom room and were happy with the facilities.

Situated in Yakushima and only 18 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, Yakushima Cottage Kukai features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The owner of the hotel was very hospitable. Ecquiped with Google translator and brought me late at night to grocery shop! Such a lovely plave in the nature. Recommended!!

Situated in Tabugawa, 15 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo and 29 km from Yakusugi Land, 新築貸切 屋久島の地杉香る 完全貸切別荘 家族やグループでの利用にぴったり offers air conditioning. Well equipped, very comfortable, self contained house with ample living and bedroom spaces. Highly recommended!

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. We spent six nights at the property. The host was friendly and welcoming, providing us with a brief tour when we arrived. Our cottage was a suite featuring two beds and a private bathroom. The property was clean and well-maintained. The shared laundry facilities, on-site vending machines, shoes drier were very convenient and useful.

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko, a property with a garden, is located in Yakushima, 18 km from Yakusugi Land, 26 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, as well as 11 km from Yumiyahachiman Shrine. The property was in a great location with easy access to some of the best restaurants on the island. I have been to Japan 5 times and, while I have stayed with many hosts that I enjoyed, Ayumi was the only host to offer to make dinner reservations for me which I thought was amazing. Every time we were in the common area she was there with us, having fun, and making an effort to keep us entertained. We loved her personality. The rooms were comfortable and we appreciated that the property was on it's own and outside of town. When you open the windows, you can hear the sound of nature without the rushing of cars/scooters. Each room comes with its own bathroom which is great as well. Each day we received bento boxes which is such a nice touch! It's hard to find time to stop the days events to get some food and with these we could eat on the go which we loved.

Boasting a sauna, SAKURA YAKUSHIMA is situated in Yakushima. Located 13 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, the property provides a garden. Nice and cozy place with large and warm kitchen. We especially liked the view outside. Would consider coming back again to enjoy the sauna.

A 3-minute drive from Ambo Harbour, Yakushima Green Hotel offers Japanese-style and Western rooms with ocean views. The ocean view was beautiful. The staff helpful with the help of the iPad translator. Although the facilities were outdated the eastern style room was worth the experience. Thank you to the staff who helped us!!
