Renovated in 2015, IORI Stay is nestled in Takayama. This traditional Japanese-style townhouse was created in collaboration with local artists and boasts designs with both modern and traditional... We had the warmest time in Takayama despite the cold winter weather. The host was super nice and accommodating. She made us feel super welcome. The house was amazing. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable and the amenities were great. The location was perfect - close to the city center and attractions. The space had great facilities which made our Christmas Eve super special.

A recently renovated property, Komorebi/こもれび is set in Takayama near Takayama Station, Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine and Fuji Folk Museum. Komorebi was so spacious. It was really comfortable, having 2 sofas for our family of 4. It was exceptionally clean, a lovely bathroom with very powerful shower. We were particularly grateful for the house having both a washing machine and tumble drier. Kitchen facilities were adequate & had a good size fridge and freezer. The tatami mats in the 2 bedrooms made it a truly Japanese experience. It was also wonderful to be able to sit out in the small garden area in the cooler evening. If you stay here, you have to go to the local onsen - this was a highlight of our trip. Takayama as a town is well worth a visit & our stay in Komorebi was truly memorable.

The rooms are very spacious and there is a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. There is also a garden and small pond which makes the place looks very relaxing. Very traditional house.

Located in Sakashita, 46 km from Gero Station and 8.1 km from Toson Memorial Museum, ゲストハウス にじゅうよん offers a garden and air conditioning. The house is just gorgeous. Very comfortable, super clean, super tasteful design. On top of, Takashi, who owns/operates a record shop/café next door was the most caring and attentive host you could wish for. He made us feel at home from our arrival. It’s a cute little village. Bakery, ramen shop, grocery. What else do you need. Moving uphill from the place we found beautiful country side views and met really nice people. What a hidden gem. 🙏

Situated in Takayama in the Gifu region, with Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine and Fuji Folk Museum nearby, SORAMACHI - Vacation STAY 14338 provides accommodation with free private parking. Soramachi was a very comfortable house with good facilities. Probably the most spacious and nicest accomodation we experienced in our travels through Japan. Only stayed 2 nights but it provided a relaxing and quiet break from the crowds elsewhere. The house is right on the river and close to a tranquil temple walk and public bathhouse . It is an easy walk from there to the old quarter and we walked to the house with luggage from the station ( 1.4 km). The owners are obviously very house proud and welcoming. Highly recommend this accomodation.
