Such a neat experience staying in a traditional Torajan home and Aldi and his family are amazing!! Best suited if you have your own wheels, but I got by just fine with my guided tours and rides from the host and/or my guide. Very kind, engaging and smiling hosts who are always willing to help with anything and everything - bus tickets, guide arrangements, food suggestions, pick-ups, etc.
PS You must take Aldi’s advice on local food - he knows the yummiest spots!!

Dear Wila,
(It is impossible to write to you as you never gave me your E-mail address. I have to use Piseth’s services).
Our two days and three nights at your Toraja style, and unique, traditional house have been a pure enchantment. We were in another world, where beauty, kindness and serenity prevailed - what we imagine paradise must be.
The accommodation: Willanda Lande’s century-old Toraja style houses for the guests were nestled between the steep wooden hill and the torrent in a garden teeming with local and many-colored plants cared for by the mother of our host.
Our Toraja bungalow had all the most recent facilities: a vast and comfortable bed, plus two more sleeping arrangements on the top floor, a shower room, tea and coffee …. and perfect calm amid the songs of the birds and the flutter of butterflies.
The food: we were welcomed each day with freshly pressed delicious fruit juice from local exotic fruit served by Willanda, the smiling host. As we required, for every meal, he selected the best restaurants serving local food for a most reasonable prices. Those were new flavours for the delight of our palates.
The service, the guide: Villanda Lande is originally a local minority Sulawesian, with two BAs from Djakarta, one of which was in English. He had the great advantage of being totally bilingual - a rarity in Indonesia. So, we could hold with him long conversations about the geography, the history and the extraordinary culture of his big equatorial island. We had a remarkable combination of modernity and century-old preserved traditions, a festival of ancient traditions with a colonial layer of christianity. He could answer competently all our questions - something unique in Southeast Asia. Besides, he took us to all the places we selected after discussions from his suggestions.
Perfect for families, groups, or couples who enjoy luxury and independence while traveling. Enjoy the space and privacy of these fully-furnished, free-standing mansions – travelers can cook, lounge, and explore at their own pace. Note that in Bali, a resort will also be called a villa.
Location is just awesome, you get the full vibe of a hilly village and the main city is just at walkable distance. But the main highlight is the family, they are so hardworking nd humble.
Ibra is the most helpful and caring host. He ensures the home is clean and comfortable, he helped us to organise everything, took us to town for dinner, picked us up when we had finished, organised scooters, guides, drivers. Fantastic host. Also, this homestay is only 4 minutes walk from Ke’te Kesu, one of the best traditional village/hanging grave sites to visit.
Amazing spot in the middle of a local village set up amongst the tongkonan houses with water buffalo grazing right in front of the house. It's comfortable, not many mosquitoes, and Meyske and her family were incredibly welcoming. They taught me all about the local history and rituals and truly made my stay a magical one! Their food is the best and they had great recommendations and were extremely attentive to all details!
Outstanding Homestay! Wonderful, warm-hearted hosts, the place is super cozy and lovely decorated and it's situated in an actual traditional Toraja village. The food is delicious, we felt very welcome. Booked a 2-day guided tour through the homestay and had a great experience! Thanks a lot!
Charming home-stay in the rice fields host by amazing Imanuel and his son!
Our host took us to Toraja’s funeral, the different graves of Torajan people, buffalo market and trekking around the beautiful landscapes and villages of his country.
Delicious breakfast!
