The hosts make you feel apart of the family and provide delicious Japanese food. They went out of their way to show us around the area and teach us about the history. The rooms are very cosy and the main living area has incredible views across the mountains.

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Yoshii Ryokan is situated in Kurashiki, 400 metres from Shinkeien Garden and 8.8 km from Mizushima Ryokuchi Fukuda Park. Our room had an adjoining garden, which was peaceful and lovely. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The meals were traditional and delicious, with polite and kind staff. The bath was very enjoyable too.

Set 18 km from Former Residence of Mitsukuri Genpo, Kifuno Sato offers 4-star accommodation in Mimasaka and has an open-air bath, free bikes and a garden. The hospitality was fantastic. The overall atmosphere was extremely welcoming.

Located within 18 km of Hachiman Shrine and 18 km of Koryuji Temple in Kagamino, OkutsuHotSpa IkedayaKajikaen provides accommodation with seating area. This traditional onsen ryokan oozes charm. It obviously has a long history and there are old photos and antiques on display that add to the atmosphere. As soon as you walk in the door it feels a bit like stepping back in time (in a good way) Our room was spacious and cosy, with a beautiful view of the river just out the window. I could have sat and watched it for hours, and the sound of the water is very relaxing. The baths are small and simple but have a nice aesthetic. The water could have been a bit warmer for my preference, but it was still nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was excellent, and we were treated to a complimentary coffee at their roastery cafe across the street in the morning. I don't think they speak much English but it wasn't a problem for us as we can speak enough Japanese to get by. Overall, a lovely place to stay, would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

Gorgeous Kashikiri (private rental) onsen bath on the roof top of the hotel called "Sora No Yu" that will take your breath away with the night view of the lighten up yubara bridge and river. Kind staff. Delicious breakfast. Relaxing atmosphere. Cute rabbit motifs all over the hotel. There is a cute message board for guests at the entrance to leave messages on little wooden boards (perfect for artists). Beautiful hotel. Relaxation heaven. Perfect location! Highly recommend Hakkei in Yubara Onsen.
