The highlight of our trip and so off the beaten trail. The ryokan is stunning and right in the historic district on the canal. The 11 course dinner served in our room was delicious and such a special experience of Japanese foods. The breakfast was also delicious and traditional and served in a peaceful breakfast room. We loved the experience of the onsen, having dinner, and then taking a stroll by the canal in our yukatans. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Japan.

Onsen in-house. Great location next to the old town, walking distance from the train station. Fantastic breakfast.
It's two blocks away from the historical quarters, and there are plenty of restaurants between the hotel and the station. The room was clean, and the Onsen temperature was perfect.
Very convenient hotel, great value for money. There’s an onsen and Japanese style buffet breakfast included in booking price. Lovely staff, mostly Japanese guests staying here. Will be back.
The hotel is perfectly located between the train station and the harbor. And it offers an adjoining onsen. It is beautiful. It also has outdoor baths and saunas. They offer great massages.
Great location, walking distance of few minutes from train station and close to the historic city centre. We have booked two rooms. Rooms were spotlessly clean and with all amenities one needs. We loved the onsen.
This was our Ryokan experience. It didn’t wow us as much as we thought. Dinner was ok as was breakfast. The service was impeccable though, dinner in room at low table with waitress knocking to enter with food. Slightly uncomfortable at the table, not used to sitting like that and the bed wasn’t the comfiest. Good experience, glad we did it, might research others earlier to book one well in advance if we did another one
Loved the clean and spacious room, the onsen access and the lovely little treats like the ice cream and ramen that were complementary. The location was also really good for station access and for food choices.
Bingoya is a wonderful traditional Ryokan and it was an amazing experience. Beautiful tatami mat rooms, shoji screens, sliding doors, hanging scroll alcoves, peaceful gardens with stone lanterns - perfect! Delicious breakfasts, which look gorgeous too. Authentic Japanese Ryokan style house with beautiful garden. We stayed on the upper floor in a “Western style” room which was wooden floors with futon beds which were really comfortable! The most exceptional about our stay was the host Yuki! She really made sure that everything would work as perfectly for us: offered rides from and to the station, made delicious breakfast and advised us about our stay on Naoshima Island.
