Ryokan is truly special. It’s located in a remote area of Nagano that allows for peace and breathtaking views. The rooms were spacious and provided an authentic Japanese experience. The breakfast and dinner were outstanding. A feast for the eyes and soul. You won’t be hungry but if you’re a picky eater this may be a tough place for you.
The onsens are small but private and you can use them at your leisure from 6:00-23:00 provided they are not in use. We never had a problem finding an available one during our three day stay.
If you want an authentic experience, don’t hesitate-book!

The best service we've ever had anywhere. Chie was essentially like our personal attendant, helping us with everything including serving dinner, making reservations, and even calling around to find a place that had my size snowboarding boot rental at a local ski resort. She made the experience for us that much better.

The breakfast and dinner were exceptional! We specifically chose this place for an authentic Japanese experience. Both meals were delicious and beautiful! The waiters were also extremely helpful.

The couple running this traditional spot was friendly and helpful. I came to see the snow monkeys and they monitored the park's webcam for me, let me know when the monkeys arrived, and drove me right up to the park. One morning the only local breakfast spot was closed and the wife gave me some of the breakfast she had made. They picked me up and dropped me off at the local train station. All of this was no extra charge. I really appreciate their helpfulness and flexibility.
The room was large, clean and had a nice sink and toilet area attached. The private onsen on site was lovely.

Our room was large and beautiful. I liked that there was a shuttle to take us to and from the monkey hot spring park. The shuttle will also pick you up from train station.
There were only 2 monkeys at monkey park , but the hike was worth it - really beautiful hike-eat at the park’s restaurant it was great food at a good price.
The hotel gives you a key to all the onsens in town. The town had a few cute shops.
The hotel employees were all very nice.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Rooms are spacious and feels like home. Private onsen baths are really nice. The location is bit far from train station and buses are not frequent. They provided shuttle transportation to and from train station free of cost. And Delicious Japanese dinner and breakfast.
The ryokan has a wonderful view overlooking the mountain, quiet and peaceful, good place to relax and food is good. Breakfast is beautifully prepared and the view of the room is stunning. Nice onsen, relaxing, well maintained and structured.
We arrived early and they allowed us to put the luggage in the room before the check in time, their flexibility is appreciated.
Warabino team was simply amazing. Everyone is very kind, gentle and proactive. They gave us a ride to and from the train station. That's an important point considering the distance from downtown. We had both meals, breakfast and dinner, with them. All we tasted was fantastic. The possibility to turn the public bath into a private Onsen when there isn't someone using it, it's another differential. The futons was soft and we had a good night sleeping. The heating in our room was the right way too. Surely we'll come back.
Amazing ryokan experience with wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay, provided delicious fresh meals and gave us great tips for visiting the surrounding areas. The location is also great fot visiting beautiful countryside that surrounds it, Obuse, and the snow monkey park. The onsen variety is really great too.
The room is spacious with the amazing mountainous view outside. I especially like that you can place your pc on the windowsill and work there (instead of the low table for those not good with Japanese sitting style). The facility has everything it needs as a Ryokan like a good relaxing lounge after enjoying the onsen with milk and other drinks. Like other ryokans in Takayama, you can visit some other onsens on the street if you have an extended stay.
