Ryokan Warabino, hotel in Takayama

7.2 miles from Suzaka Zoo in Takayama, Ryokan Warabino provides accommodations with access to a hot spring bath and public bath.

My wish is everyone could stay here / experience this stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly face & exceptional service. They brought our luggage up to the room for us and showed us how to use a ryokan. Honestly wish I could give the man at the front desk / little old lady helping us in a hug. The private onsens were so gorgeous. We were able to access all 3 without a wait , but if they were in use there’s a time limit of 50 minutes and you can mark yourself down next if that’s the case. We chose to have dinner & breakfast included in our stay, and it was also amazing. High quality local traditional food. We were taught how to eat some dishes. We were both brought to tears with the amount of joy this stay brought us. One of our top experiences within Japan. Our room was huge with lots of space & beautiful light. Futons were comfortable. If you’re undecided where to stay for a great ryokan experience, please choose this place ! * If you’re looking for coffee there is a vending machine in lobby area & just outside near the parking lot.

Fujiiso, hotel in Takayama

Fujiiso offers accommodations in the Yamada Onsen Area in Takayama Village of Kamitakai District in Nagano Prefecture. There is a shared lounge and gift shop at the property.

The best service we've ever had anywhere. Chie was essentially like our personal attendant, helping us with everything including serving dinner, making reservations, and even calling around to find a place that had my size snowboarding boot rental at a local ski resort. She made the experience for us that much better.

The room was spacious and clean with amazing views of the mountains nearby. The public onsen was well maintained, I highly recommend the outdoor bath as it was so relaxing, especially if you time it so there is no one else there. Staying here was a highlight of my trip

Amazing onsen hotel, lovely garden and common area and the room was soooo cute and cozy. Good view and in a nice quiet area but close to the train station. 3 total onsen, indoor, outdoor, and private, all of them very nice! Tattoos ok which was a plus. The staff were very kind and breakfast was delicious. I wish I could’ve stayed here longer.

On just a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Station, Wafu-no-Yado MASUYA features beautiful Japanese-style rooms, hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a private outdoor hot spring bath.

We loved everything about this place - the location right on the main onsen town street, their own onsen, the wonderful dinners nd breakfast, and the very attentive service. The first night we arrived late, tired and hungry to find out that we need cash for the sushi that was the only one still open. They were so kind and generous, and realizing the despair, that the person at the front desk hoped in her can and drove us to an ATM that was 20 mins away. this level od attantivnedd remained throughout our stay. We enjoyed it so much we extended a day.

Rooms are spacious and feels like home. Private onsen baths are really nice. The location is bit far from train station and buses are not frequent. They provided shuttle transportation to and from train station free of cost. And Delicious Japanese dinner and breakfast.

The ryokan has a wonderful view overlooking the mountain, quiet and peaceful, good place to relax and food is good. Breakfast is beautifully prepared and the view of the room is stunning. Nice onsen, relaxing, well maintained and structured. We arrived early and they allowed us to put the luggage in the room before the check in time, their flexibility is appreciated.

Warabino team was simply amazing. Everyone is very kind, gentle and proactive. They gave us a ride to and from the train station. That's an important point considering the distance from downtown. We had both meals, breakfast and dinner, with them. All we tasted was fantastic. The possibility to turn the public bath into a private Onsen when there isn't someone using it, it's another differential. The futons was soft and we had a good night sleeping. The heating in our room was the right way too. Surely we'll come back.

Amazing ryokan experience with wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay, provided delicious fresh meals and gave us great tips for visiting the surrounding areas. The location is also great fot visiting beautiful countryside that surrounds it, Obuse, and the snow monkey park. The onsen variety is really great too.

The room is spacious with the amazing mountainous view outside. I especially like that you can place your pc on the windowsill and work there (instead of the low table for those not good with Japanese sitting style). The facility has everything it needs as a Ryokan like a good relaxing lounge after enjoying the onsen with milk and other drinks. Like other ryokans in Takayama, you can visit some other onsens on the street if you have an extended stay.
