We had a great stay at Ryokan Warabino. The owners and staff were very friendly and they even handed us a little welcome present. Beautiful Onsen and very comfortable rooms. We stayed two nights and had two fantastic dinners and breakfasts. We recommend Ryokan Warabino to everyone!

Nice Onsen (which contrasts with the old uncomfortable bathrooms in your bedrooms).
Nice service even if a bit too rigid old style.

Charming family run traditional Ryokan with exceptional hospitality. Lovely place to enjoy the onsen experience. We had our own private hot spring bath in our room and were lazy to experience the many other baths in the hotel (let alone all the public baths in town). The staff are very kind and attentive, and the food is wonderful. We enjoyed the full kaiseki meals for both breakfast and dinner and they were delicious.

The host is just super nice and helpful, she pick us at the train station and she explain us what we've to see in the town, like a little guide.
She bring us to Monkey park when we arrived and she kept our luggage to put it in our room so no worries for us even if we came before the check in time.
We can choose to eat at the ryokan or not (is not included), and it was amazing : homemade delicious dishes in a typical atmosphere.
The osen can be private when we wanted and all bath stuff is included.
So no regret and we recommend it ! ✌️

The location was good for us as we wanted to stay in an onsen town. The owners are absolutely wonderful. We were very kindly given a lift to the monkey park and to a lovely spot to take some pictures and were really looked after during our stay. We had one Japanese style dinner and breakfast during our two night stay. It was delicious with real attention to detail and was beautifully presented. All the staff were lovely and warm. You are given a 'master' key to the nine different onsens in town to use at your leisure (during opening hours)
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Rooms are spacious and feels like home. Private onsen baths are really nice. The location is bit far from train station and buses are not frequent. They provided shuttle transportation to and from train station free of cost. And Delicious Japanese dinner and breakfast.
The ryokan has a wonderful view overlooking the mountain, quiet and peaceful, good place to relax and food is good. Breakfast is beautifully prepared and the view of the room is stunning. Nice onsen, relaxing, well maintained and structured.
We arrived early and they allowed us to put the luggage in the room before the check in time, their flexibility is appreciated.
Warabino team was simply amazing. Everyone is very kind, gentle and proactive. They gave us a ride to and from the train station. That's an important point considering the distance from downtown. We had both meals, breakfast and dinner, with them. All we tasted was fantastic. The possibility to turn the public bath into a private Onsen when there isn't someone using it, it's another differential. The futons was soft and we had a good night sleeping. The heating in our room was the right way too. Surely we'll come back.
Amazing ryokan experience with wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay, provided delicious fresh meals and gave us great tips for visiting the surrounding areas. The location is also great fot visiting beautiful countryside that surrounds it, Obuse, and the snow monkey park. The onsen variety is really great too.
The room is spacious with the amazing mountainous view outside. I especially like that you can place your pc on the windowsill and work there (instead of the low table for those not good with Japanese sitting style). The facility has everything it needs as a Ryokan like a good relaxing lounge after enjoying the onsen with milk and other drinks. Like other ryokans in Takayama, you can visit some other onsens on the street if you have an extended stay.
