Very pretty location in the mountains, alongside a river. The facility was well kept and beautiful. The baths were great, with both public and private open air baths. Food felt like an art exhibit mixed with a feast. The texture of tatami mats in the rooms was really nice.

I've stayed in my fair share of Ryokans over the years and they always look amazing but fall short at the food department. This Ryokan however served me the best possible food I've had in awhile, the food was AMAZING. The rooms were also equally as amazing. They were absolutely beautiful and had so much vibes. We loved the "forest" vibe of the hotel, it was an absolute joy walking through and exploring the hotel. The rooms were absolutely beautiful!

The room was spacious and the historic atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful. The cave onsen was interesting, but not very hot honestly. Situated along the riverside was dramatic and so picturesque. I was fine sleeping on the futon mattresses on the tatami mats, but my friend complained that she was very uncomfortable. The food was ever-so delicious, but just too much for us old folks. It is a very romantic atmosphere and walking around the village was enjoyable.

Gosyo Gekkoujyo is an outstanding experience from start to finish. The exceptional staff made us feel well cared for throughout our stay. Our room had an outdoor cave onsen that we never wanted to leave. The food was the highlight - we spent over four hours a day eating. That said, if you don’t enjoy all things Japanese then this might not be the place for you.

Oku no yu was great! The staff picked us up from the bus station and dropped us off. The facilities had a public and many private onsens to try. The staff helped us set up our futons and there were yukatas for us in the room. We had breakfast there and it was very yummy. Overall, great experience and would recommend!

The cave onsen was a unique experience. They have private indoor n outdoor hot springs for booking. The English speaking female non-japanese staff was very friendly and pleasant. The ryokan also sent us to the bus stop when they learnt we are taking the bus to Hakata. Dinner was served around a fire place, giving a warm, fuzzy feel.
Clean, spacious room with comfortable futons, amenities and everything included.
Private onsen hot enough, indoor and outdoor onsen was clean, big and free flowing.
