Hanmer Springs
Select Braemar Lodge & Spa is a luxurious lodge nestled in the foothills of the Southern Alps, close to the village of Hanmer Springs.
All suites include an open-plan sleeping and living area with LCD TV, gas fire and super-king size beds. Guests can pamper themselves in the marble bathroom with double spa bath and double shower. All suites have a private balcony, many with a hot tub.
This was one of the best value for money stays in nz. The room was amazing. Breakfast was great. The view just the best.
Methven
Brinkley Resort is situated in the Alpine heartland region of Methven and features views of Mt Hutt. The 4-star resort offers fully self-contained apartments suitable for couples, families or groups. Surrounded by 2 hectares of landscaped gardens, it boasts a tennis court, a restaurant and a hot tub with mountain views.
Brinkley Resort Methven is 3 minutes’ drive from the Methven Racecourse and Methven Golf Course. Mount Hutt is a 30-minute drive, and Christchurch International Airport is an 80-minute drive away.
Great facilities, clean and well-supplied rooms. We stayed here before and had wifi issues, so it was really nice to find they had improved the wifi.
Love the tennis court, although it could do with some maintenance work.
Windwhistle
Situated in the picturesque Canterbury high country, Fable Terrace Downs Resort features all day dining, an 18 hole golf course and a range of outdoor activities. The villas have open-plan living spaces with gas fires. Guests can enjoy free on-site parking. Fantastic views of Mt. Hutt, adjacent to nice golf course, superb meal from restaurant, courteous staff, washer/dryer.
Lake Tekapo
Peppers Bluewater Resort is a 4.5-star hotel close to the shores of Lake Tekapo. This resort offers luxury accommodation, great views and is ideally positioned for exploring the Mackenzie Basin and Southern Alps. It is a 10-minute walk from the Church of the Good Shepherd. The property so good with the facilities and also the view from the room itself.

Beautiful property, I felt like I was living in luxury! The flat was spacious, clean, and beautiful. (And the heated toilet seats are 🔥😍🥰) The hosts were incredibly helpful and understanding and answered every question I had, no matter how annoying 😅 Honestly I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I will defintely book again when back in Christchurch.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The resort is obviously designed for, and caters for groups of golfers, not general tourists. Restaurant staff and meals were excellent.
The heaters worked in the room, the bed was nice and firm which is nice, two rooms for this price is also a luxury. The toilet and bathroom were clean enough. The room was nice and big too, with a heater in each room.
Location, luxury, views, clean and stylish.
This was our second visit to the resort after a gap of more than 10 years. The villa is very well-kept and comfortable in a beautiful setting. We also had an excellent dinner at the club house.
There were 5 luxury beds instead of 3 and bunks. We were 5 siblings.
