Set in Jiji, Nantou County region, Caffir Garden Hotel is located 50 km from Taichung City Office Building. All the reviews I read for here were really good And for good reason. This hotel really made our stay in Jiji excellent. We arrived early and not only did they let us check in four hours early but also made us coffee and let us put a load of laundry on. We used the hotel bikes to cycle around town. Breakfast was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and views of the mountains, 正揚大飯店 is located in Renai in the Nantou County Region, 43 km from Hualien City. The best part is the hotel's hot spring in the back. Breakfast was also very simple but tasty (for Taiwanese). The rooms are functional and have mountain/valley views. Overall, Lushan is a very interesting area. Once upon a time, it was obviously a vibrant hot spring resort town but now it sits empty. Typhoons and landslides have led the government to condemn most of the buildings. The closed hotels are filled with rocks silt. Shops are trying their hardest to keep going. It's hard to imagine a recovery for this area, despite the immutable soothing natural hot springs. What a fascinating tale. Definitely worth a visit, but not on a rainy day.
