Well I think I may have found the perfect hotel!! The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We are a charity and couldn't have achieved our mission on Santa Maria without the help of the amazing Sophia, an absolute credit to Charming Blue, thank you so much from all the team and crew at The Maiden Factor. I can't wait to come back!!

This 4-star hotel is located close to Vila do Porto, a 10-minute drive from the airport, the mountain and the beach of Praia Formosa. Traveling with My 1 year old and arriving early, check in wasn’t for a decent amount of time but they were able to thankfully get Me a room ready within a hour and a half. Comes with breakfast. Has a bar and food available for lunch or dinner. There is a kids room which I enjoyed. Not far of a walk from the center and was nice to see the animals. Beautiful view from room!

Featuring garden views, QUINTA DO FALCÃO in Almagreira offers accommodations, a garden, and barbecue facilities. With mountain views, this accommodation provides a patio. Everything well maintained and service went the extra mile with us being late. The next day we could stay as long as we wanted because there was no other booking. Short cab ride from the main city (~10€). Recommended!

A recently renovated vacation home, Casinha do Barreiro - Cosy Private Cottage offers accommodations in Vila do Porto. With mountain views, this accommodation offers a patio. The place is amazing. Aideen is great. If you're looking for a place that's kind of isolated on your own hill top in the middle of nowhere, yet just up the hill from a small town with a great restaurant, look no further. Awesome sunrise when you wake up in the morning. Beautiful stars at night.
Santo Espírito
Located in Santo Espírito in the Santa Maria region, Villa - Cantinho do Paraíso provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This place is paradise on earth. The Villa is breathtaking. It is at a perfect location with amazing views. The rooms themselves are modern, intuitive, and comfortable. The grounds are impeccable and Susana and Nestor make you feel like you’re part of the family. The pet donkeys were one of the best parts, as was the bee workshop and a tour of the island with Miguel. We felt sad to leave, and will definitely be back to visit again.

Alo Baía São Lourenço provides air-conditioned rooms in Santa Bárbara. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking, and free Wifi. It was so clean, beautiful house, can hear the waves from the house, basically ocean front. Amazing, kind host and family. They went out of their way to help us when we needed to get to the airport. Amazing 10/10

Santo Espírito
This vacation home offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk, and free Wifi. We really enjoyed our 11 night stay at Casa dos Valentes! The hosts were very, very friendly and helpful, they even helped print documents for us, and when we left today, they let us stay longer than normal check-out, since our plane left late in the afternoon. We couldn't be happier about this place, it was nice and comfy, clean and well-equipped and the views were lovely. We highly recommend Casa dos Valentes, Santo Espirito and Santa Maria, and hope to come back one day!
The property was super clean, the staff were impeccable, they were courteous, friendly and super helpful. we flew to Santa Maria to visit the island, and celebrate my wife’s birthday. the hotel staff presented us with a birthday cake and a bottle of champagne. they decorated our room. they went over and above the call of duty! thank you everyone for all your hard work and your beautiful smiles! job well done! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Almagreira
The structure is very likely one of the best on Santa Maria. Quite recently renovated, it is located in a nice surrounding. The staff is very very welcoming and does everything to make you feel well. The apartments are essential but quite functional to live in for a longer period of time. The style is a modern/northern european one, very difficult to find nowadays in Portugal and even more on the Azores.
We loved the style of the hotel! The staff was really sweet and everyone was so friendly! (they even brought up some breakfast, because we had to leave pretty early in the morning the next day!) Especially Jose was a great guy, very helpful and lovely to talk to! When in Santa Maria, we totally recommend to stay at the Charming Blue!

Excellent hostel in the best place in Vila do Porto! Very clean, amazing friendly atmosphere, great WiFi, hot water, good breakfast. I love everything and will stay again on Santa Maria Island as well as on other islands!
Very beautiful traditional house, beautiful location/view, very clean, fully euqipped, the owner left fresh bread, local milk, butter, honey for us. We stayed only for 2 nights, I wish we could stay longer. Definitely will go back. Thanks very much
From the moment you arrive there is a feeling of being welcomed. For ever aspect of our stay Luís was there to assist, from restaurant reservations to trail info. Bella made us a welcome basket and homemade treats. For New Years there was champagne! Truly an amazing place in the most beautiful of settings.
