The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We are a charity and couldn't have achieved our mission on Santa Maria without the help of the amazing Sophia, an absolute credit to Charming Blue, thank you so much from all the team and crew at The Maiden Factor. I can't wait to come back!!

The 4-star Hotel Santa Maria is located just 0.6 mi from the Santa Maria Airport and features a large garden and an outdoor swimming pool. The breakfast was good - the staff was phenomenal. Aida at the counter was amazing throughout our stay. Helped us with tours , locations , cabs ….. A++++ reception. She definitely loved her job.

Vila do Porto
This beachfront property offers access to a terrace and free Wifi. The vacation home has an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub. Paulo is an excellent host! Carried our bags for us, gave us a detailed tour of the house and amenities and left us a welcome basket with the best melons I’ve ever had (grown locally). The constant breeze and sound of waves crashing made our stay super relaxing. Sorry we had to leave. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Aideen is great. If you're looking for a place that's kind of isolated on your own hill top in the middle of nowhere, yet just up the hill from a small town with a great restaurant, look no further. Awesome sunrise when you wake up in the morning. Beautiful stars at night.

Alo Baía São Lourenço provides air-conditioned rooms in Santa Bárbara. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking, and free Wifi. The location was beautiful, the house was just across the road to the seafront. The house is beautifully furnished with amazing woodwork. The soft furnishing is stylish and very good quality. Decoration is light, bright and a wonderful theme of green! The kitchen was fully equipped, and a lovely selection of welcome goodies were there when we arrived. The beds are very comfortable. The seating areas are lovely, terrace and balcony facing the front out to sea and back terrace sitting and bbq area in the shade. Absolutely perfect! Our hosts Cesar and family were so incredibly helpful, a very big thank you to them for making our holiday so special.

Comfortable beds, fast and reliable Wifi. Pleasant contact with the owner (who lives about 150 Meters away), fast reaction times.
The property was super clean, the staff were impeccable, they were courteous, friendly and super helpful. we flew to Santa Maria to visit the island, and celebrate my wife’s birthday. the hotel staff presented us with a birthday cake and a bottle of champagne. they decorated our room. they went over and above the call of duty! thank you everyone for all your hard work and your beautiful smiles! job well done! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Almagreira
The structure is very likely one of the best on Santa Maria. Quite recently renovated, it is located in a nice surrounding. The staff is very very welcoming and does everything to make you feel well. The apartments are essential but quite functional to live in for a longer period of time. The style is a modern/northern european one, very difficult to find nowadays in Portugal and even more on the Azores.
We loved the style of the hotel! The staff was really sweet and everyone was so friendly! (they even brought up some breakfast, because we had to leave pretty early in the morning the next day!) Especially Jose was a great guy, very helpful and lovely to talk to! When in Santa Maria, we totally recommend to stay at the Charming Blue!

Excellent hostel in the best place in Vila do Porto! Very clean, amazing friendly atmosphere, great WiFi, hot water, good breakfast. I love everything and will stay again on Santa Maria Island as well as on other islands!
We liked everything in the house, it was perfect stay in Santa Maria.
From the moment you arrive there is a feeling of being welcomed. For ever aspect of our stay Luís was there to assist, from restaurant reservations to trail info. Bella made us a welcome basket and homemade treats. For New Years there was champagne! Truly an amazing place in the most beautiful of settings.
