The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We are a charity and couldn't have achieved our mission on Santa Maria without the help of the amazing Sophia, an absolute credit to Charming Blue, thank you so much from all the team and crew at The Maiden Factor. The 4-star Hotel Santa Maria is located just 1 km from the Santa Maria Airport and features a large garden and an outdoor swimming pool. Very quiet and spacious hotel. Restaurant on site. Comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing atmosphere. A very good base for exploring the island of Santa Maria

This 4-star hotel is situated close to Vila do Porto, a 10-minute drive from the airport, the mountain and the beach of Praia Formosa. Traveling with My 1 year old and arriving early, check in wasn’t for a decent amount of time but they were able to thankfully get Me a room ready within a hour and a half. Comes with breakfast. Has a bar and food available for lunch or dinner. There is a kids room which I enjoyed. Not far of a walk from the center and was nice to see the animals. Beautiful view from room!

Not too high in the hills, so most of the time I had sunshine on the terrace

Casa da Ponta Negra is set in Vila do Porto. Offering free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking holiday home features a hot tub. Paulo is an excellent host! Carried our bags for us, gave us a detailed tour of the house and amenities and left us a welcome basket with the best melons I’ve ever had (grown locally). The constant breeze and sound of waves crashing made our stay super relaxing. Sorry we had to leave. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

A recently renovated holiday home set in Vila do Porto, Casinha do Barreiro - Cosy Private Cottage features a garden. The property features garden and quiet street views. The place is amazing. Aideen is great. If you're looking for a place that's kind of isolated on your own hill top in the middle of nowhere, yet just up the hill from a small town with a great restaurant, look no further. Awesome sunrise when you wake up in the morning. Beautiful stars at night.

Set in Santo Espírito in the Santa Maria region, Villa - Cantinho do Paraíso offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This place is paradise on earth. The Villa is breathtaking. It is at a perfect location with amazing views. The rooms themselves are modern, intuitive, and comfortable. The grounds are impeccable and Susana and Nestor make you feel like you’re part of the family. The pet donkeys were one of the best parts, as was the bee workshop and a tour of the island with Miguel. We felt sad to leave, and will definitely be back to visit again.
