We couldn't hike as we were tired but this property has multiple mapped hikes which one can do as an activity.

This was a lovely hotel. The lobby has an amazing view of the Douro River and so did our room with a small balcony. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and fabulous. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. We rode the train in and took the bus out. It was very handy as the station for both is the same location very near the hotel.

Great view on the beautiful river Duoro valley. Many animals, that you expect to see in a zoo, live on the villa territory. A train station just 200 meters down the hill. You can swim in the covered pool, outside pool or in the river (which water is clean as the river basin upstream is a territory of UNESCO-protected national park). The villa produces its own fruits, jam, milk and yogurt, etc
Personalized attentive service throughout
Rooms are super comfortable, the staff is very nice, and the view is superb. The location is perfect to explore the valley during the day, and be back still in time to enjoy the pool in the afternoon.

Marta and Raquel welcomed us at check in. they were most hospitable and professional! Marta served us your famous port wine upon arrival. she gave us helpful with suggestions re sights to visit. we enjoyed the full view of the Duoro River from our balconies of our premium deluxe rooms. your restaurant staff were friendly, for example, Bruno Ribeiro, Justin Timberlake, lookalike, service's was attentive and responsive. we enjoyed our meals. breakfast was delicious as well. the rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. bathroom was modern and spotless. towels were soft and white. free indoor parking was secured with easy access. the location is private and serene. highly recommend.
There's really nothing to complain about and the staff (especially Ana and Sarah) are definitely going all the way to make you enjoy your stay. We joined a local wine maker and her team harvesting the grapes and we enjoyed every bit of it. Doing the grape stomping at the end of the day was another enjoyable experience. No commercial tour can beat this, all thanks to the local staff who helped making arrangements. The hotel provides a good breakfast with wonderful views and offers 2 choices for dinner all at a reasonable price.
Unbelievable experience. I didn’t want to leave. From the very helpful and courteous staff to the impeccable surroundings I just wished I had more time there. It was so tranquil and exceeded my expectations. I want to come back and stay for a week.
Everything! Beautiful location, wonderful facilities, great breakfast (try the delicious scones), beautiful art allover the walls but the best of all is the owner. Such a nice funny and welcoming lady, told us all about the place, made sure that everything is fine, gave a recommendation for a good place to eat.
