A treat to have a soak in the spa pool after a day on the bikes.

The host gave my friend and me private rooms even though we booked a shared room because we were to get only guests in the hotel. She was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend - especially if you like historic buildings.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was dedicated parking behind the hotel. The room was very pleasantly furnished and decorated. It was clean and quiet. Check in was smooth. The hotel has a great bar/pub adjoining, where breakfast and dinner was served. It's an old hotel with great routines and processes in place; all in all a professsionally run hotel. It was a great stay.

The Powderhorn Chateau is situated in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. The receptionist was an exceptional help for me since I locked myself out of the car by mistake. Awesome support by her!
