A treat to have a soak in the spa pool after a day on the bikes.

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. We really loved the family rooms - they were warm despite the cold temperatures. The hot water systems (i.e. the showers) were excellent. Finding the hotel and accessing the car park was also very easy. The restaurant (the spiral) also served very high quality food. The cost of the rooms was outstanding value for money.

Located in Manakau, 39 km from HortResearch, Manakau House The Old Manakau Hotel 1920 provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. You can't judge a book by its cover! The inside of this historic hotel was charming, comfortable and quiet. The host gave my friend and me private rooms even though we booked a shared room because we were to get only guests in the hotel. She was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend - especially if you like historic buildings.

A hidden jem in the center of palmy north. The owner was a gentleman. Best value for money to be found. Very comfortable room. Clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Situated in Whanganui, 47 km from RNZAF Base Ohakea, Rutland Arms Inn features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. We had a more than pleasent stay. The rooms are great and the breakfest very delicious. All the stuff was very friendly and toughfull. There is a restaurant in the same building and the main street from Whanganui is right in front of the Inn.

The Powderhorn Chateau is situated in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. great location close to train station, comfortable room with balcony, nice restaurant.
