It's very quiet and green. It's a bit further from the main street, but still very close to restaurants, small shops, and Sigiriya Rock. Room was quite big and clean, and the bathroom was well-equiped. Small clean pool was real refreshment on a hot day. Staf was very friendly and helpful. It was sad to leave, and so far it was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Good job guys!

During our two and a half week trip through Sri Lanka, the Lion Gate Hotel was the best accommodation we stayed in. Bernard gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with a wonderful stay in an oasis of well-being. During our trip, the search for small, authentic and nice accommodation was unfortunately somewhat difficult. The Lion Gate Hotel ultimately met all our expectations and not only did we have a great starting point for our activities around Sigiriya but also a place where we really enjoyed going to simply relax. The rooms are very nice, the facilities are new and modern. The service should be emphasized. Any type of requests were fulfilled immediately. I can highly recommend staying at Lion Gate Hotel.

The place is really nice and the owner is very welcoming. He was available and gave great insight on what activities we should do. He spotted our traveler profile and advised us accordingly. At the hotel, you can grab some bikes and there is a cool trail around the nearby lake... The room was clean, bigger than expected, and comfortable. The food was good and they bake their berad onsite etc... You can't go wrong there.

A Paridise for all things nature - birds, trees, wildlife and stars, Rumesh’s collection of plants are wonderful and his passion for all things living is enduring and a refreshing change from most business owners! An afternoon/evening spent on the roof top with tea (so many to choose from!) and/or a few beers plus a meal before star gazing is truly magical, with Rumesh’s attentiveness and knowledge and the unspoilt view it will be a memory we will both cherish. Rumesh is happy to help you with all arrangements - kindly arranging a tuk tuk tour including the Dambella cave temple, a stop at a fruit market and a lake (the name escapes me) this was a perfect mid morning outing after Lion Rock. Rumesh is truly the selling point of this place, he has so much love for the environment and his plans make us very excited for what’s to come. For now the room is basic but equipped with all you need, the bed was super comfortable (we slept for 9 hours on our 2nd night!) both a working AC and fan - something we don’t often get here. Being a small place tucked away it promises a peaceful night! Less than a 25 minute walk to the Lion rock ticket office (we strongly recommend getting there for opening!) 10 minutes walk to a cluster of restaurants, tuk tuks and a bus stop. We originally only booked for one night but thanks to the location and Rumesh’s words “this is your home” we stayed for 2. We wish Hotel Bird Paradise every success and want to thank Rumesh for making us feel so welcome, we hope it won’t be too long until we are back again!

My daughter and her friend had a wonderful stay at Teprass. It’s a beautiful little hotel with clean comfortable rooms and a great onsite restaurant. Pool is great too! What is most exceptional is the staff - The hotel manger was Extremely helpful - we had to make date changes due to flight delays. The manager was so very accommodating and promptly made the necessary changes keeping me informed via text. He also assisted with a safari bookings a cookery demo bookings etc. Communicative, helpful , courteous and went above and beyond! The epitome of hospitality! Thank you to the manager and staff at Teprass for making their stay so memorable.

The room is very big and the bed is comfortable. It was very nice to sit in the Veranda to enjoy the panoramic view and the Sigiriya Rock. The staff and owners are so friendly people making you feel welcome. I would come again. Great experience!
