Hotel a Kumano
Situated in Kumano, within 200 metres of Odomari Beach and 4.7 km of Ubuta Shrine, Oninosanpomichi features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who... I'm not easily excited, but this is probably the first time I give a 10 out of 10 (and would give it 11 if I could). The staff is really exceptional (even for Japanese standards), very polite, very kind and very considerate. The building was built in the 70s (it's been a family business ever since) so it got the flair from that time (even the faucets on the washbasin in the bathroom seem to be from that era). Everything is well kept and working without problems. And of course verything is clean. It's located just next to the two tunnels leading towards the city, so it's conveniently accessed by car (be sure to slow down when exiting the tunnel or you'll miss it). By foot it's 20 minutes and only one of the tunnels can be used - I'd recommend a taxi. For foreigners: The staffs English is a bit limited, but it's sufficient for basic communication. If you want an authentic stay with the kind of atmosphere you might have seen in an older movie: This is your place to go.

It was a traditional Japanese experience. We were received with a warm and kindness treatment. I felt like part of the family, they care about we need, and support all the time. If you want a Japanese breakfast, this is the place, but advise them the day before, it worth it. P.S. you have to know that is not a conventional hotel, it is a Ryokan.

When I booked this property, I had no idea it would be like staying in an Edo period Ryokan. The staff was unbelievable and natural wood decor was beautiful. There’s also a very stunning garden in the middle of the property that can be seen from the restaurant. My four two-story suite was outstanding. This was the type of state I was hoping for, and it exceeded all of my expectations. Despite having four rooms and two stories in my suite, it was very affordable and I wish I had stayed there a few more nights.
