Le Malve Cave Retreat Cave Retreat is located in Sasso Caveoso, the historic part of Matera. It boasts air-conditioned rooms with a town-view balcony and a buffet breakfast. Location was unique and breathtaking!!! Hotel staff was extremely kind and very helpful! Reception and breakfast/ dining area - a stone mason's adventure playground!!! A structure of rare beauty. Breakfast was Scrumptious, a variety of Apulian delectables!!! Suite was very clean and comfortable with a refreshing view from the terrace. I highly recommend this "Cave Retreat" for anyone who appreciates rare gems...as this is one of them!!!

Set inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site, Corte San Pietro is housed in a renovated historical building carved out of stone. It offers rooms with a private entrance and free Wi-Fi throughout. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is superb, The breakfast was more than adequate, the location is an easy walk into town. A little uphill on the way back. Matera is a beautiful city and this place just adds to it. Highly recommend.
