We enjoyed the drive up and the surrounding areas. we loved the feeling of remoteness- maybe not for everyone but it was the favorite area we stayed in our ten day trip around Iceland.

Our stay at Heydalur was definitely the highlight of our trip in the West Fjords. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. We loved going to the hot spring on the other side of the river, the pool in the greenhouse and the hot tubs outside were also wonderful to relax in. And the beginner's horse riding tour was fantastic, the guide was very kind and matched us up well with the horses.
