It is located in a central area with low tourism activity, which is suitable for an extended stay. We stayed a week. We wanted solitude with access to hikes, mountains, highlands, waterfalls and glaciers, and we got it. The breakfast was also delicious. The staff is very kind and accommodating. The setting in the living area where breakfast is served is cozy and the ambiance is wonderful.

Flatey is absolutely charming and this hotel is perfect for the atmosphere of the location. Great summer concert series where locals and tourists alike share in the fun. Excellent food and one of the best cocktails I’ve had in Iceland.
