A warm welcome from the hosts. Room was lovely and very comfortable, spotless and everything in there for a relaxing night's sleep including a decanter of sherry which is a rarerity and very welcome. Breakfast was superb, was able to choose on the previous evening so got everything exactly as I wanted. There was even a sausage cut up for my little dog who was also made very welcome. An added bonus was the car park which makes life much easier than searching for a space in the town centre. Hotel is very central, with many lovely shops nearby and a short walk/drive to the castle and beach. Highly recommended.

The award-winning Watermead House is set in a quiet location, just 2 minutes’ walk from Chard town centre. Free Wi-Fi is available, as well as on-site private parking. The check-in was seamless, David and Caroline were superb hosts, and our room was the best! The directions were also clear, and the suggestion for a restaurant for dinner was spot on.

The fish n chips were an A+++ and we are from New England. The hotel is so steeped in unique history and each nook and crannies reflects this beauty. Our room ( #1)was fantastic.I The Secret Garden was indeed a lovely secret haven for afternoon tea.
