Positioned along Taohua River, Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel features a Chinese-style courtyard and is located in Lujia Village, just 1.2 mi from downtown Guilin. Excellent view. Rooms were very nicely decorated with attention to detail. Noodles with complementary breakfast were my favorite of the trip. Excellent communication from staff.

Surrounded amid impressive Karst mountains, Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is located at the edge of Yulong River. Free WiFi access is available. Free parking space is offered. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly and most speak English. The facility is located right on the river. The food, both western and traditional are both very good. There are plenty of daily activities available at the front desk that can be organized.

Li River Resort is located on the west bank of Li River and offers a relaxing retreat in Chinese-style accommodations. Hotel stuff was amazing, room was cleaned and set up every time we went out. Breakfast was amazing, they even managed to fix it earlier when we asked them. Ginger tea is a must try. Room is cozy, great view over pool, river and mountains. Heated bed is perfect for cold nights. Quiet and relaxing vacation here. You can rent a bike nearby if you feel like it or 15m walk to center. Demo cafe on the way is superb. Overall a hotel that we plan to stay more than once in the future.

Nestled in bamboo forests and surrounded by rural farmland, Riverside Retreat Hotel overlooks the beautiful water of the Li River. Tucked away from the city, relaxing, nice views. restaurant and pool available. Beautiful bike ride into town. Staff were so helpful and really made our stay feel special. Very close to a bus stop to Xingping, which was convenient! 15 min bike ride to the city of Yangshuo, bikes and e-bikes available to rent.

Right opposite Two Rivers and Four Lakes, Guilin Rong Lake Aroma Tea House, formerly Jing Guan Ming Lou Museum Hotel, is located in the city center. Small hotel run by a couple of friendly woman. They kept our big luggage for 4 nights while we went to the rice fields and then to Yangshuo. Easy to communicate as they speak English, which believe me, is not something you can take for granted in China, not even in touristy areas. For this reason alone, I think this is probably the best hotel to stay at if you don’t like the hassle.

Located in Yangshuo, 2.9 miles from Darongshu Scenic Area, Lanshan Moon Resort provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center and a garden. The main attractions of Lanshan Wangyue Hotel are the outstanding location in a village not too far from the town of Yangshuo, but with a feeling of old rural China and magnificent unobstructed view of the karst peaks in all directions; and the friendly service by the owners, Mark Ma, Li Wu and Siwei, and their hard-working and helpful staff. Additionally, the rooms are commodious and offer full views-- distant mountains from the front, the village and close mountains on the back side. The beds are new and great for sleeping, plus the rooms have good insulation and are very quiet. The proprietors find out what the guests wish to do, and custom arrange and lead excursions into the surrounding countryside. In an area that has lots of tourists (almost all domestic Chinese), they can take guests on bike trips or hikes to places that no one else visits. Ask them to take you on the half hour climb up to the old Qing Dynasty bandits lair in a cave high above the surrounding countryside, or to one of the ancient villages in the area. So much to see and do in the area, with some of the finest scenery in China.
