Chris and fur-baby Roxy are excellent hosts, and the ohana was perfect for my husband and my two-night stay. It is centrally located in Pahoa town, making it convenient to run errands either to the village center or to Hilo town. The home is a shared accommodation, which was a first for us. There was another couple staying for one night, and they were very nice and kept to themselves. Chris is very personable and easy to be around, whether you want to hang out and chat, or just chill by yourself and read. Roxy is a beautiful, well-behaved Carolina dog, and for us, a joy to have around.

Located 49 km from The Painted Church, Tiki Cabana is in Hawaiian Ocean View and has a garden and a bar. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The glamping tent is away from the main house so it is quiet. The guest can make noise but it will not affect other people. The owner built the deck and the tent by himself. He also built the restroom, shower room and a kitchen. The customized counter top is very beautiful. The bed is comfortable. The owner also prepared beach chairs, umbrella, and snorkeling tools. It is better to rent it for more nights so the hotel fee can be averaged down. This glamping tent is close to the south point, the black beach and the green beach. It is 50 miles from Costco in Kona. I look forward to living there again.

Boasting a private beach area and views of garden, Seaside House and Aloha Bungalow is a recently renovated apartment set in Pahoa, 1.3 km from Kehena Black Sand Beach. This newly renovated house in the jungle has an expansive yard and is in a beautiful setting. Everything worked. There was good communication from hosts. The birds erupt into a cacophony at night adding to the magic of the experience. There's no TV. Kids had a blast catching lizards in the meticulously landscaped garden.

Located in Honokaa and only 46 km from Hapuna Golf Course, Private Ohana on the lush Hamakua coast with AC provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything was great. Well maintained, clean and an excellent location to explore the north side of the island from. The hosts are friendly and have things nicely arranged and extra items for use such as folding chairs for outdoors, a beach umbrella and a small cooler. If we come back to the big island any time in the future we’d definitely stay here again.

Set in Honomu, 2.1 km from Kolekole Beach Park and 19 km from The Pacific Tsunami Museum, THE HONOMU HOUSE - Gorgeous, Spacious 4Bd2Ba Home near Waterfalls and Hilo, Sleeps 12! Location and facilities. We are a volleyball team and wanted a large room where girls could stay together. Also large living area and wrap around deck for leisure time. Girls were comfortable here and staff had plenty room too. Full kitchen facilities and dining area were ample. Easy check in and check out process. Jade and her team left us an aloha message with a nice box of chocolates. Communication with rental staff was excellent. Beautiful place for rest and relaxation! Mahalo nui
