Marvelous view on the river with gorgeous sunset experience. We (family of 6) did a self drive tour Arusha-Moshi-Lushoto-Dar-Neyere park. The Neyerere Park is the largest park in Tanzania and much less touristy than the northern parks like Serengeti. The selous river camp is located just outside the park and offers an excellent starting position for game drives. You can stay in safari tents or cabins. We stayed for 3 days in the camp and we did 2 game drives where we were guided by a trainee guide from the park entrance. The other day we did a boat trip on the river and enjoyed some relaxing in the river camp. In the Neyere park we saw many animals, giraffes, wildebeast, Elefant, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, pelicans, baboons and many more. There are lions and leopards too, but unfortunately we did not see them. Although the Selous camp is outside the park, it does not feel like it. Hippos can be seen in the river and there is a group of elephants which regularly passes the camp. We had a close encounter with the male elephant of the group, so impressive. The staff of the Selous river camp is very friendly and supportive. The food they serve is delicious and we got nice lunch packages for our game drives. Definitely a place to visit again.

Serena Mivumo River Lodge is a boutique lodge set on the banks of the Rufiji River in Tanzania’s Selous Game Reserve. This riverside lodge offers an outdoor pool and sun terrace. A week after our stay here, it’s still hard to put into words how to sum up our safari with Serena. From the moment we arrived at the airstrip to the moment were dropped off, Able, our guide, took great care of us. He was highly professional, highly knowledgeable, his tracking abilities are extraordinary and took us on an experience we’ll never forget. It was just the two of us for the 5 days with Able, so it felt very personalised. We also took an evening and morning boat down the river where we were rewarded with even more incredible experiences! Boatman Zak’s knowledge and spotting skills were also first class. Back at the river lodge, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our meals overlooking the river were unforgettable. Our lodge was so spacious and extremely comfortable and we loved the outside shower

Wszystko nam się podobało. Właściciel i cała załoga rewelacyjni. zapewnili nam super pobyt. odebrał nas z lotniska z Dar Es Salam i cały czas opiekował się nami super chłopak Mudrick. był super kierowcą, przebijał się przez takie tereny , że nam aż oczy wychodziły. posiłki były bardzo smaczne ale najbardziej uwielbiałem kolacje. wieczór odgłosy buszu, skaczące małpy, i gramofon z Vinilami. nawet raz były pochodnie i pokaz tańca. właściciel super gość ma trochę bzika (-: na punkcie Lwa ludojada ale dzięki temu poznaliśmy całą historię ( widzieliśmy człowieka który go zabił oraz tego który ocalał z ataku). mieliśmy też wycieczkę łodzią po rzece gdzie były hipopotamy i krokodyle oraz super małe żółte ptaszki. byliśmy też w wiosce plemienia SUKUMA - niezapomniane przeżycie .

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even helping to repair our car, which would not start after we arrived. The food was tasty, varied, and plentiful.
