The location, right on the beach, is unbeatable. No light pollution, the night sky shining, the only sound was wind and waves. There are miles of beach to walk along and explore. The road to the lighthouse has beautiful baobab trees, and monkeys. The tidal sand bars. The friendly staff and locals. Delicious meals, made on request. I'm vegetarian and it was easy.
Baleni
With Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve reachable in 6.8 km, Kitu Kiblu offers accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a terrace and a bar.

Wonderful team and great facilities! Everyone was so incredibly welcoming, supportive and friendly during our stay, taking the time to visit with us during meals and helping to accommodate our relatively packed time on Mafia. We felt truly at home and only wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the grounds. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by curious monkeys and saw several elephant shrews as a bonus to our stay. The whale shark excursions that they offer are best on the island (we tried one other operator as well), being not only efficiently run and catering to all demographics, but also very educational and responsibly run by a team that is clearly passionate and informed about the animals. Excellent adventure - thanks for making our time so special :)

Place is located on the beach. Nice chilled atmosphere and very friendly staff. You can get all your meals through the lodge and they host multiple activities.
An amazing little island with outstanding tree house accommodation. Eco tourism at its finest. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Perfect for winding down after doing safari. Definitely worth a visit. The owner has done so much to help the locals which was lovely to see.
The staff are amazing. Abi is so helpful and kind. The Whale Shark activity was awesome and the Captain and Guide were respectful towards the Whale Sharks unlike the other boats around us. It was also cheaper than the other lodges. The room was spotless and comfortable. Spa treatment fantastic. Really super spot. Its the perfect place to book at the start of your Mafia holiday and then explore. Thank you Maisara:)

Maisara Mafia Beach Lodge is an amazing up and coming piece of paradise!!! The new rooms are very large with all the mod cons you need!!! The staff are very helpful and kind!! I would highly recommend the tours offered, we did 4 different excursions which was a big highlight of our stay! I would highly recommend Maisara Mafia Beach Lodge for your stay on Mafia Island!!!
Very nice area with lots of beautiful flowers, very clean and nice rooms and very friendly and engaged people all around and great food and service. Meremeta is a really great host and organized everything perfectly for us and we had an awesome time at his place. Thanks again Meremeta & Team! We recommend the Meremeta Lodge 100% and we will stay here again if we come back to Mafia Island. Greetings from Germany.
