Had great access to the river and a charming town, architecture was harmonious with nature, great food, a nice place to lounge and súper services like yoga and massages.

Pumarinri Amazon Lodge býður upp á gistirými í Chazuta, fyrir framan Huallaga-ána. Það er útisundlaug og veitingastaður á staðnum. As far as jungle stays go this was unreal! The hotel is outstanding! The location is so beautiful, and the lodges are all so nice. Keep the doors shut to keep the bugs out. Nice to sit on the balcony, watching the river and the cloud forests was magical. The pool was also great! Food was possibly some of the best we ate our entire trip. We were not expecting the food to be SO GOOD! Yes, there are bugs - as someone from the UK this was a hilarious experience as I have never seen crickets and grasshoppers this size before so kept the staff entertained when I would scream at them landing on me :) But this was one of the highlights of the trip. We did a river tour - the guides speak mainly Spanish, but you can still get the jist even if your Spanish is extremely basic (like ours). We also had a translator who was volunteering at the hotel who came along so that was helpful! We saw a sloth on the boat trip, that was really special. Lots of birds and saw some tiny monkeys too.

This is a private residency that was decided to be rented as a hotel, and you can feel it right away. The service is not smooth. Cleaning is not ok, no hot water, bath smelled from the first day, the breakfast was two eggs, one piece of bread, and some tiny pieces of fruits, which is ok, but definitely not the level of "lux bungalow". The enterence is "private" , meaning you arrive at the closed gate and have to call a manager, but the connection is off at that place so we had to come back to the main road to catch a connection. Then once you are at the property you are totally dependable on the manager. Whatever you want - just text him. But the internet is very bad and often off. The guy doesnt always checking the phone, as the proverb goes the first day the guest is a gold, but the last day they are a trash. The same is here! The territory is nice. That is it. As a traveller with an experience I can say that this place has a lot to improve and the manager is a young guy who is smiling into your face all the time but has soemthing else in his mind.

Katari Center er staðsett í Tarapoto á San Martin-svæðinu og býður upp á gistirými með ókeypis einkabílastæði. This place is just magical. I love the peace and quiet and all the stars I could see in the sky in the night since there was isn’t any light pollution around. I’ve stayed in many places in Tarapoto where there are sooo many loud motocars and since this is outside the city it’s very quiet and peaceful. I also really enjoyed the little puppy on the property and the small monkeys in the trees plus the staff were all very nice and took really good care of me. Next time I want to stay longer!
