Bourbon Street is for sure an interesting place, and it is also extremely crowded and noisy. I am not sure how anybody can keep up a normal conversation while walking down the street. There are basically all types of music played, maybe 4 or 5, individuals or group, on both sides of a the same sidewalk.
Also just about everybody warns tourists of unsafe the street is as soon as the sun is down--which in winter means past 5PM. We did not experience , nor did we see/witness any criminal activity, though. Police is there too, watching, on street corners.

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA, especially children that are still in strollers, do not take a child's stroller to Bourbon street, especially at night. I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but rather really not appropriate for kids to be on Bourbon street and there is often very loud music playing from the bars and street performers that might be tough on little ears. Plus, there are usually some people that are very intoxicated walking around and do you want that around your child(ren)?

This is my second time here on Bourbon St first time was in the mid of the pandemic. The second time was nothing like the first time. There was so many people having a good time drinking dancing and just talking loud. I loved every minute of it

Although the French Quarter is interesting, Bourbon Street is a mess. It is dirty and smells terrible and worse than many of the Third World Countries I have visited. Even a police officer I talked to recommended avoiding Bourbon Street.
The French Quarter has some of the best food I have ever eaten and street performers are great but stay away from Bourbon Street.

It’s good to walk along there and people watch, it’s mainly drunk tourists but fun to watch the guys working on the street trying to hustle as well, there’s some real characters. Plenty more great places to visit in the city though

Please be prepared to pay at least $25 per day for parking. Get a hotel close to wear you'll be touring and walk each day. Everything is in walking distance which is good for site seeing and waking off all of that deliciousness.

This was a great place. This was my 3rd trip to NOLA. It was only step away from Bourbon street and very close to Jackson Square. Hotel was very clean and maintained well.
The hotel is after the renovation: rooms, lobby and halls are clean and beautiful. Beds are very comfy, bath is clean and has everything that you need.
Very good location: close to Royal and Bourbon streets, but in a quiet area.
The hotel is really pet-friendly.
I love the aesthetics right smack in the middle of everything. There's no need to go anywhere else; everything is within walking distance. It's two blocks away from Bourbon Street. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and parking is provided at an extra cost. It might be haunted, though I've seen quite a few haunted tours on the corridor of the hotel, so maybe. I personally didn't feel anything weird.
The hotel is historic, but very nicely renovated. It's located one block away from Bourbon Street, but not loud there. The staff was most pleasant. The entrance is secured making it relatively safe.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location, right on Bourbon Street. However, the noise and commotion from the street can be heard in the rooms, even on the upper floors, late into the night.
The location was perfect for us, close to Bourbon Street and public transit. It was an extremely quiet and peaceful location (room 415).
The complimentary hot breakfast was better than most hotels offer, but don’t expect something like the Ruby Slipper. Come on, it’s free. The staff is very polite and the various concierge (esp Glenn) were extremely helpful. The hotel is quite safe and secure.
The location was absolutely prime if you want to be in the heart of New Orleans and near Bourbon Street. Beds were EXTREMELY comfortable, honestly the best hotel bed I’ve had, pillows fluffy, and towels plentiful. The air in my room wasn’t working on our first full day so we called down to report it, maintenance was there in less than 10 minutes to fix it. The man at the desk the night we checked in was also extremely helpful and kind.
