The Windsor Court, hotel in New Orleans

Just a half-block from Canal Street, this 5-star New Orleans hotel is a 5-minute drive from the French Quarter.

The Salon tea service was delightful and a wonderful experience away from the standard New Orleans. The room was perfect for our family of 5 - large, comfortable, and yet cozy at the same time. We thoroughly enjoyed valeting our car and not needing to use it again until we checked out - the location can't be beat.

Bourbon Street is for sure an interesting place, and it is also extremely crowded and noisy. I am not sure how anybody can keep up a normal conversation while walking down the street. There are basically all types of music played, maybe 4 or 5, individuals or group, on both sides of a the same sidewalk. Also just about everybody warns tourists of unsafe the street is as soon as the sun is down--which in winter means past 5PM. We did not experience , nor did we see/witness any criminal activity, though. Police is there too, watching, on street corners.

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA,...

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA, especially children that are still in strollers, do not take a child's stroller to Bourbon street, especially at night. I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but rather really not appropriate for kids to be on Bourbon street and there is often very loud music playing from the bars and street performers that might be tough on little ears. Plus, there are usually some people that are very intoxicated walking around and do you want that around your child(ren)?

This is my second time here on Bourbon St first time was in the mid of the pandemic. The second time was nothing like the first time. There was so many people having a good time drinking dancing and just talking loud. I loved every minute of it

Although the French Quarter is interesting, Bourbon Street...

Although the French Quarter is interesting, Bourbon Street is a mess. It is dirty and smells terrible and worse than many of the Third World Countries I have visited. Even a police officer I talked to recommended avoiding Bourbon Street. The French Quarter has some of the best food I have ever eaten and street performers are great but stay away from Bourbon Street.

It’s good to walk along there and people watch, it’s mainly drunk tourists but fun to watch the guys working on the street trying to hustle as well, there’s some real characters. Plenty more great places to visit in the city though

Please be prepared to pay at least $25 per day for parking. Get a hotel close to wear you'll be touring and walk each day. Everything is in walking distance which is good for site seeing and waking off all of that deliciousness.

Location is perfect (nice bars etc. around, but bourbon street 5min away). The breakfast place "french toast" is connected to the hotel, which was excellent. Staff super nice. Hotel bar had good cocktails although not a big selection. Room had a mini bar.

Great location, next to Bourbon Street. Fantastic heritage hotel that oozes charm and legacy. Courteous, old world service within a contemporary setting. A happening bar C called Carousel. And an informative concierge desk. All in all a great experience.

We had a wonderful time in New Orleans. The hotel is very conveniently located, within walking distance of the French Market, cafe du monde and round the corner from Bourbon Street. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself has a lovely antique feel and character that transports you back in time. Really pleased with our stay!

We were on a music road trip from London England, this was our first stop. We stayed for three nights. It was a lovely hotel on the edge of the French Quarter 10 mins walk from all the life of Bourbon street and Mississippi River. The facilities were great a lovely breakfast with complementary tea coffee and water throughout the day in the reception area. A lovely clean hotel room, great swimming pool and garden. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back again. The parking was about £30 per night.

The apartment we had was spacious and very nicely and homely decorated. We immediately felt comfortable. It was very clean. Enough towels, blankets, pillows, toilet paper were provided, even everything needed to use washer and dryer (but we didn‘t use it). Location was great, walking distance from nice restaurants, Canal and Bourbon street. The pool was also great.

The location of the hotel is great, and Bourbon Street is within walking distance. However, the area around the hotel feels unsafe, especially due to the presence of security in the lobby, which says enough.

Clean, great food . The hotel is in the perfect location to get to Bourbon Street. I love the security at the hotel, everyone needs a hotel key to get to the rooms and enter through the back door. AMAZING STAY!

Great location and a beautiful house. Newly renovated hotel and pool with a spa bath which is perfect to cool off in the hot summer days. The staff were really nice and welcoming, thank you for a great experience in NOLA! By far the best value for money. Frenchmens street is right there, with better music, food and overall atmosphere than Bourbon street:) Would definitely stay there again.

The location was perfect, a 5 min walk to Bourbon Street and the french quarters but far enough to get away from the noise. The 1 bed apartment was big, with a bedroom and comfortable king sized bed and a big sitting area with a fully equipped kitchenette.

What guests said about Bourbon Street:

  • If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough.

If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough. Find restaurants off the beaten track and at different times than are typical eating times. Avoid Bourbon street at night on the weekend, more of a crowd drinking scene anyway so if crowds aren't your thing, not really where you should be looking. The fact is that it is a popular place so it is tough to miss people, but strike out on your own and explore and there are some great things to see.

So many options to listen and enjoy music, not only on Bourbon Street but throughout the French Quarters and adjacent areas. Big plus is that for most places its free entry, so you can just go and enjoy the music without having to spend much money.
