Topkapi Palace
The home of Ottoman sultans for hundreds of years, Topkapi Palace is one of Istanbul’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Dating back to 1459, this sprawling royal residence once covered a huge stretch of the shore – and even had its own hospital, mint, and mosques within its walls! Now a museum, it displays some of the most important artifacts of the Muslim world.

i know the country is struggling and that they also have to do what they can to reduce the hordes tramping through Topkapi, but you have to be on the level of the British Museum or the Louvre with a once-in-a-lifetime traveling exhibit to justify these kinds of prices.
I'm very interested in Turkish history as well as an archaeology buff and it didn't merit the investment.
i think they should cut the price in half, offer a steep discount for seniors, and cut off ticket sales at a certain volume each hour.

1,700 lira per person, payable in cash or card (debit/credit) in TL, Euros, or USD. The free audio guide requires you leave your passport as deposit (not $), so be sure to bring yours. There is only one place inside that require women to wear a shawl and they have freebies you can use at the entrance to those rooms. The harem is included in this price, NO need to pay an extra 600 TL. Budget at least a good couple hours just to tour the place.

Too expensive ticket, but if you enter, do eat before entering and grab with yourself a bigger bottled water. There is no place to get a water inside, one spot sells drinks at multiple times the normal price. The trip may last around 3 hours so eat well beforehand. Really recommend going early, as later in the day and after 2 + hours after opening, it gets too crowdy.

1500 Liras per person in June 2024.
1500 Liras per person in June 2024. We had to pay this price for kids aged 7, 9 and 11 as well. You only get discount if you show passports. Overpriced and too many people. Museum is worth visting but not at that price.

This is a hard review to write because the staff was so wonderful it is hard to disparage, but the hotel needs some changes before I would recommend them. We stayed in the family room with connecting door

Staying at Constantinopolis Hotel was an amazing experience! The hotel perfectly blends its historical charm with modern amenities. Its location is unbeatable, just a short walk away from iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace.
Location is just perfect. Close to all attractions (3 to 8 mins walk covers Blue mosque, Hagia sofia, topkapi palace and basilica cistern. Also, smalls shops and restaurants are all around the hotel.
The location is just superb. Practically walking distance from Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar. Many Restaurants just outside the hotel. The managemnt ( General Manager) is very cooperative and solves any problem for the customers.
The Hotel location is perfect, in the old part of the city and a walking distance to Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofia and the Blue Moseque square. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit tiny, which was already mentioned in the description, however nice and clean, we also kept it tidy to feel comfortable at all times 😀
The room is big and spacious, walking distance to most of main attractions in Sultanahmet district like Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace Museum. Many cafes around the property.
Many variety of breakfast menu and the taste are good. The restaurant has nice view.
Excellent staff - Ali and Rukiye were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was phenomenal. Coming from a land of fake eggs, pancake batter and frozen sausages - their breakfast breathed life into our jetlagged souls. The room was cozy and warm. The location was just perfect - a 5 minute walk from every major landmark - the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar etc.
We had a wonderful stay at nomade hotel. Superb location with walking distance to hagia sofia, topkapi palace and blue mosque. Excellent transfer from airport to hotel and vice versa. Checking in was fast. Although room is small its still comfortable. The bathroom is very good, and clean with hot shower which is excellent. Appreciated the kindness of salman and hussein for accomodating some of our request.
